Never do this yourself sorry but better a small expense than a new machine.

This may not be a Do It Yourself project. you can easily cause more damage trying to take your machine apart and then there are potential complications from making the wrong adjustments. Replacement Viking parts are only available from viking dealers. this may be a simple problem that can be easily and inexpensively fixed by an authorized viking dealer.

Do it step by step taking photos of how it looks before you take parts off so that you can put them back the same way

I have a viking lily 545 machine that needs a new circuit board. Where can I get one?

I just repaired a Husqvarna Viking Lily (555?) in which the orange backlight of the LCD was lit but the display and the rest of the machine was otherwise inoperative.

There was a bad 470uF 25V capacitor on the main circuit board that read 50uF when I took it out. I replaced it. I also replaced the 4.7uF 63V one nearest to it but I dont think it was bad.

The machine came back to life straight away. There was horrible ripple on the 5V supply before and afterwards it was still about 1V AC but much better than before. Maybe putting in a larger cap would be sensible, or even a Low ESR model. Its the rightmost capacitor in the picture, blue, third largest, horizontal orientation.

I used the service manual from here, it shows how to disassemble the machine and take the PCB out:https://download.cloudatcost.com/download/ex36merptmkszez76il2jplsi

The parts list is here in case you need to look it up:https://download.cloudatcost.com/download/8wgfq1g0ad8zs78gksdff41vv

Hope this helps somebody.31147139-23d6-4d30-b650-41b3c39e85f6.jpg

How to remove top cover of lily 550

Make sure the presser foot is in the up position. This will open up the tension disks. It takes a lot of patience to remove imbedded thread. Use tweezers to grab the thread. Rock the handwheel backwards and forwards to help release the thread. If all that fails, have it cleaned by an authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer. You can find your nearest dealer at the viking website - http://www.huqvarnaviking.com/us

Missing a foot pedal

Check with your local Husqvarna Viking dealer. That is what they are there for.
The foot control is a little pricey for that machine, but why would you want to take a risk on cheapening your experience with your machine that you "ADORE" by trying to take the cheap way out in getting a part for it.
Get what you need and continue to "ADORE" your machine.

Bobbin does not wind all the way up

I have had this problem, easily fixed by twisting the rubber knob that is in contact with the spool to the left.
