Brand new sewing machine wont stitch. Any ideas?!?!

I just purchased a new Singer 8763 Curvy this past weekend. Considering I haven't touched a sewing machine in about 13 years I'd say I'm quite the beginner. After reading the instructions on proper threading, watching videos, and also Googling, I can't get this thing to stitch! I've rethreaded the machine a good 10 times. Checked the bobbin, switched it around, etc. It just wont stitch! It wont catch the bobbin thread (but I read in the manual you can begin sewing WITHOUT it catching) and it will also beep 4 times after a few seconds. I'm not sure what the problem is and I'm getting quite frustrated. Any ideas?

I'm sure you've done this, but I'll just throw this out there. Did you pull the bobbin thread through the groove that slants on the left side of the needle plate starting from the upper left corner of the bobbin cover?

Testimonial: "Yes, I have. Originally I had cut the excess but after trying everything I just left it. When I threaded the machine the first time it picked up the bobbin thread but still would not stitch :("

I buyed a new sewing machine curvy 8763 and when i start trheading the bobbin the needle stats working as well and it starts beeping

Consult your owner's manual. There is a handwheel release that, when loosened, will allow the bobbin to wind but stops the needlebar trying to stitch.

Does the singer curvy 8763 have a low shank

Yes, your machine takes a low-shank foot. That seems to be the most commonly used type for newer machines.

Some sewing machines are extremely finicky about the direction the thread feeds from the bobbin. I had one machine that didn't care which way the bobbin fed and another that would stop after 2-3 stitches and protest. You could try flipping the bobbin and see if that helps.

Need a open darning and walker foot for my curvy 8763 which should i purchase?

A Curvy isn't an Athena. I have a Curvy and it is a low-shank machine that can use a variety of snap-on feet.

I have Singer curvy 8763 and want to purchase a walking foot for it. Will you advise please

Your machine takes a low-shank foot, and they are very commonly available, either from eBay or Amazon, or any site that sells presser feet.
