I have a panasonic blu ray dmp-bd60 despite having the logos for several internet services I can only get Amazon, pandora, weather and one other (not english).
Panasonics do not give you much to choose from. I have a similar unit and similar issue. And it is also very slow at getting into the applications. GRRRR.

Not familiar with netbook but when you say wireless connection is gone is it your provider, wireless modem/server or your ethernet card? Normally there is a troubleshooter on most laptops that will walk you through it to get you reconencted if you right click on the internet connection icon...

Are you talking about the Internet Explorer Icon, if so click Start/Programs and look for Internet Explorer. Right Click on it and then select Send To/Desktop (create shortcut)

Your internet explorer will now be on your desktop.

If it is not report back and we will have to manually search your hard drive for it.

try to restore your internet explorer to factory defaults by going to control panel, network and internet, internet option, advanced tab, reset web settings. take note that all your favorites will be gone.

Click "NO".
Close Internet Explorer.
Open Internet Explor, and the message should be gone.

If not:
Disconnect from the Internet (both "wired" and "wireless" connections).
Click "YES".
Close Internet Explorer.
Reconnect to the Internet.

Internet explorer is gone what can i do to restore
You can just open any My Computer window and write your URL (http://...) in the address bar. Windows will automatically open IE for you.

To restore IE, go to control panel => Add/Remove Programs => Add/Remove Windows Components (found in the left pane.

But I think your IE is still there, it's just the short cut that is gone. Try option 1 instead.

Added ie 8 beta, uninstalled, ie will not start
basically your ie8 uninstallation is bad...try and see if you can get an ie8 uninstallation toolkit at microsoft.com to uninstall ie8 properly. Else, you might have to reinstall ie7 after uninstalling ie8.. this same problem persisted when micorosft released ie7 and i was supporting ie7 when released. so take my word. happens with all ie beta versions..
