SOURCE: Dell Optiplex GX 270 pc desktop problem

I've heard that Dell will still honor the warranty if you mention the capacitors to them. They haven't recalled them, but they know it is a known problem.

SOURCE: nothing works on my dell optiplex gx 270

First, are you sure the power supply is coming on? Check by placing your hand at the back of the computer where the power cord plugs in, turn on the computer and see if you feel air blowing. It sounds like your power supply died.

If you're not using a quality surge protector, you may have fried the PS. Wal-Mart sells a cheapie one that goes bad quickly. If you spend less that $39.95 on a surge protector, you're basically wasting your money.

If the power supply doesn't come on, replace it, but you'll have to purchase it from Dell because they use proprietary PS - so generic won't work.

SOURCE: I have a dell optiplex 270 and my computer does

Third party burners (Nero, Roxio) will give you wrong drivers if you try to add a new drive. Uninstall them and remove previous drive info. Also make sure cd record trab shows in device manager and is active on the IMAMPI.

Why does my computer dell optiplex gx 270 not fully support direct x 8.1

Your video card determines Direct X support. If you look at Newegg.com--find a newer video card and read the tech specs most of them now support Direct X 10 or higher.

I hope this helps!

Dell optiplex gx 270 is not giving display

If you are not getting display for your Dell Optiplex GX 270, the issue may be one of three possible causes:

* The VGA cable connection between the Dell PC and the monitor, may not be seated in the VGA port correctly. To resolve this, just make sure the VGA cable is seated completely in the VGA port of the Dell computer and that also the Power cord from the monitor to the power source (i.e wall socket, power strip, surge protector, etc.) is seated securely.

* There may be an issue with the Video card in the Dell PC

* Or there may be an issue with the motherboard for this model of Dell.

To check to determine if the latter is what you are experiencing with this issue, please feel free to review this Dell Support link: Dell Optiplex GX 270 Display issue.

If you have more questions regarding this information, please feel free to reply back to this post.

Which sound card i need to instal

Here is a link to a diagram of the Optiplex GX 270 system board: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/opgx270/SM/EN/replbrd.htm

You need a sound card that has a PCI interface. On a Small Form-Factor board it goes into slot 10. On a Small Desktop system board it would install into the “riser board” which in turn is installed into slot 10. On a Small Mini-Tower system board the sound card would be installed into any available slot marked as 11.
