You should only use the MOM (or momentary) setting when using the push button the foot pedal. Con will just keep the motor running and your foot control will only allow for direction and speed!

When troll motor is switch to mom and pedal engaged motor does not run, but when switched to con it runs in this mode. this problem just started, replaced switch and problem still the same.

I'd be looking at a connection problem AFTER where the pedal connects to the unit. It doesn't take much of a "bridge" to cause an open at the chassis mount OR perhaps in the home unit itself. Since the unit runs when switched to "CON" we can eliminate a power supply issue. I'd be looking for an obvious physical problem such as a cold solder joint. Try cleaning the circuit board with silicone spray (SAFE FOR PLASTICS ONLY!!!) and see if that gives you any joy.

Hope this helps and good luck!

How do you operate the motor? I have no details as to how the motor operates. Its a minn kota trolling motor that mounts on the front of my boat. I need to know how to operate the foot peddle.

The pedal has generally four functions:
1) Forward and back on the pedal make the motor go left and right (push forward to turn the motor right, push back to turn it left)
2) Momentary power - the little 'button' towards the top will engage the motor as long as you press down on it.
3) Selector Swith - on the side of the foot pedeal there is a switch with the following settings Con - Off - Mom (Continuous - keeps the motor going all the time, Off - well it's off and Mom - will only go when you press the momentary button).
4) Speed select - the knob on the left controlls how fast the motor goes.

It takes some getting used to but offers tremendous control and hands free operation!

Hi!
Flip the foot pedal over and tighten the set screw where the cable enters, this should help out.
Here's a schematic:

Minn Kota power drive trolling motor will not steer to the right **** huard

It is the circuit board in the foot pedal. You will have to replace the whole foot pedal. This is a very poor design. The thin plastic which protects the contacts gets a little hole which allows water to enter and consequently the contacts corrode. Has happened to me two times in past four years. It might be OK for operation in a dirt-free water-free environment; but not under actual fishing conditions.

Possible sticking foot control switch

If you can undo the switch and it won't run any more, the it is the switch except for any other wiring short out of sight depending how that switch is hooked up. Strangely these devices should be designed to fail to safe. In your case some exception?

Where can i get a circuit board for my minn kota foot pedal Part # is 9901-200c

You need your serial number of the trolling motor, length of shaft, and thrust poundage.

or you could call Minn Kota direct and give them the same information at 800-227-6433.

How does the minn kota 65 all terrain run on 24

You should only run the motor with a 24v battery or two 12v batters 'jumped' out. To jump the two batteries, connect the positive on one batter to the negative on the other battery and hook the trolling motor battery cables up to positive and negative terminals that are NOT jumped out as you would normally. Don't run this with 12v as you will have serious problems if you do. They do not make a 65lb thrust in 12v - too much pound thrust to run off of 12v.
