If your mode control dial is hard to rotate, there is chance that a sticky liquid may have sprayed or spilled, Take a q-tip with some rubbing alcohol or glass cleaner and rub around the outer edge, letting small amounts to slide under the dial. Begin turning the knob right away to work it in and loosen the stick. Make sure very little gets transferred from the q-tip, you don't want to short our the camera. It would be wise to do this with out the batteries loaded

SOURCE: canon powershot g5 - battery charge

Take out the battery and put it back and than recharge again. Some times in case of G5 it happens that the camera battery is not properly charged and the indicator shows that its fully charged (i.e. Green light) In such cases battery need to be taken out and than put back again and recharged

SOURCE: Canon PowerShot G2 buttons don't work

You have a bad button board . This is a single board with a series of small button switches that control all these functions. Most repair shop will charge around 75.00 to fix.

SOURCE: Canon Powershot s3 will not turn on or review photos.

It is likely that an internal integrated circuit in the DC/DC board is damaged.

You will need to have your camera reviewed by a qualified technician to have it repaired, since it requires open the camera and evaluate the DC/DC board performance.

Best regards,

1. Is your card very full of pics? More pics just slow down a card.2. Is your card a "cheap" slow-speed card? If so, it can't keep up. If your camera uses SD cards, get a class 6 or better.3. After downloading your pics to your computer, get in the habit of formatting the card in the camera to erase it and return it to original condition.

Cost of battery

It depends on what battery you want to put in the car. That'll depend on where you live - if you're in the colder states, I'd want at least 750 cold-crank amps (CCA), so it can reliably start the car in the dead of winter. Personal preference - I love the Optima Red-Top deep cycle (dry cell) batteries. They're monsters - same size as a typical battery but huge power, great recovery time, and they seem to last forever (I had one in a car for 9 years). About $130 for it, but worth the money.

I have a Canon SD1000 battery pack issue.

Hello,
I have a Canondigital ixusi which had the same problem and I purchased three new batteries, but found that all of them showed the "replace battery pack" message when fully charged. I have solved this problem by cleaning all the terminals on the batteries and in the camera very thoroughly with alcohol and Q-tips. Even though the terminals look completely clean, there must be a slight film which is preventing good contact. The contacts in the camera are spring loaded and I suspect they are not making a very good conection to the battery so any contamination is making a high resistance to the flow of electricity. Hope this helps - it worked for me.
