Back pack leaf blower wont run past half chick

Hi I have a back pack leaf blower that will only run between half to fully closed choke. When I open choke all the way it immediately dies. I took apart carb and cleaned it. Also replaced fuel lines in gas tank and cleaned clunker. Help needed. Also can you suggest settings for low / high speed adjustment? Thank you, John

Either your carb is still dirty as in has clogged jets or passages, bad diaphragm in the carb or you have the air/fuel needles way out of adjustment. Google what type of motor you have and how to set carb. Or even get a manual, that would be my advice. Also make sure you don't have to much 2 stoke oil in your fuel mix.

Will only idle between full and half choke after replacing fuel line and cleaning fuel filter

Hi Duane:
Sounds like it is running lean.
Are there mixture screws on the carb?
If so, back them out 1/2 turn and give it a go.
Once you don't have to use the choke you can fine tune the mixture with the engine running.
Cheers.

IN BACKPACK BLOWER USED 4 CYCLE OIL AND NOW RUNS SLOW

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TOUCH THE CARB!!! Put the right 2cycle fuel mix in with new spark plug and run it, it will gradually pick up R.P.M's as it cleans out. once you get it running hit your primer button while holding it wide open, this will cause it to bog down and possible stall then start it again and do this half dozen times, what it is doing is pulling your fresh gas through the carb, another way is start and hold throttle wide open and work your choke open/shut back and forth several times, You do not have to clean your carb, this is simple problem to fix by doing what I said, Happy Leaf Blowing ! 2StrokeJim

While running what setting does the choke lever need to be placed in

Depending on how your unit runs, it may need to be on half choke until the motor warms up. After the motor gets hot it should run with the choke fully off.

Will not operate with choke full open

It sounds more like the high speed jet needs to be opened. No engine will run with the choke on. Open it up, find the little screw labeled high or fast, you have 2, one low or slow, If opening it up doesn't work, try closing it, turn it a very little bit at a time to see what it does. Hope this helps.

Leaf blower will only run on half choke, & wont idle

the exhaust side of the engine is clogged with carbon. clean the carbon from the port and spark arrestor screen and it should go away. to preveent this again run your unit at full throttle all the time or at idle never inbetween

Shindaiwa Blower - when throttle pushed, engine sounds flooded and it dies. any thoughts on how to fix?

Its not flooded- its lean.
Heres a way to test me. Try to give it throttle but keep it running. At the same time slowly close the choke. does it run better as you close the choke? Does it run pretty good on half choke?
Rebuild the carb, replace the fuel lines and fuel filter.
