SOURCE: the back rim on my 20

What do you mean by "skips a rotation"? From your description about it wobbling on the axle itself, it is very likely you have a broken rear axle. If you loosen the axle nuts you will be able to tell if the axle is still in one piece. When you loosen the axle nuts be careful because if the axle is broken it may fall out along with some ball bearings.

SOURCE: freewheel spins both ways cant peddle no were how

The freewheel has a ratchet pawl (an internal, spring loaded lever) that would normally engage gear teeth in one direction and click over them in the other direction. This is just like the action of a ratchet wrench. You might have a broken spring or broken pawl - in which case you will have to replace the freewheel---- Or it might just be dirty. Spray some WD 40 inside it (spray through the small gap between the round part that moves and the round part that doesn't. If that doesn't work, you'll have to replace it.

SOURCE: Bought a 26" Mongoose Detour

For the gear problem.Find the shifter.Use a pair of pliers and loosen the nut where the cable is passing through the shifter. Now withe the pliers pull the cable tight.Very tight.Spray the shifter with WD-40.That should fix it.

For the front rim, tighten all the spokes.Pliers will work, but a spoke too; will make the job faster.

Hi I just bought a Mongoose 2.1 Mountain Bike at Wal Mart and the breaks squeak really bad any time I stop what might be the reason since the bike is new?

the brake pads just need to be adjusted. angled so the pads hit the rim on the back of each pad first. right now the front of the pads are touching the rim first and making a squeaking noise. very common and very easy to adjust.

I was driving down the road and a rock came up and hit my rim and busted the whole thing into about five pecies. I have a warranty on this mongoose rebel and i was wondering what i have to do to get it...

Warranties may not cover that kind of damage but any bicycle shop can either lace a new rim on it or sell you a new wheel (probably cheaper).

How do you get the rubber tire off the rim?

Get the rim / tire of the frame. Let all the air out of the tube, Using two flat blade screw drivers, put them between the rim and tire about 3 inches apart, (be careful not to puncture the tube) Pry the tire over the rim, leave one in place and move the other about 3 more inches and pry the tire over the rim again, keep moving around the rim until the side is off. Reach in and pull the tube out, fish the stem through the hole. Finish pulling the tire off the rim, you can use liquid soap to help make things easy. Put the rim back together the same way. Hope this helps Fix Ya up.

I need a front rim assembly for a mongoose spark 26" X1.95 dual disc brakes. i purchased this bike at wal.mart north Olmsted, Ohio 44070. the bike was hit at the front rim is bent beyond repair. i...

If you want only the rim who would assemble it for you? At this level of bicycle it's usually cheaper to buy a wheel than to buy a rim and have a shop swap it over.

Look at the disc itself and count the bolts holding it on. You want to order or locate a 26-inch disc wheel with a hub that matches the disc rotor you have because you'll be transferring it to the new wheel.

You probably also would want it to match cosmetically. Then look closely at the rear wheel and assess what brand (or at least what color) the hub and rim are.

A quick search of eBay for generic "26" disc front wheel" 's brings up 37 of them starting at $45 including shipping. OR you could drag the Bike or just the bad wheel to a real Bicycle Shop and let experts take care of everything.

How do I get the back tire to adhere back onto the bike rim?

Once you fill the tube with the proper amount of air pressure the tire will will press against the rim. the proper pressure should be on the side of the tire. Good Luck!

Back rims are stuck on truck even with lugs loose and truck jacked off ground. I tried putting one lug back on loose and kicking tire and tried putting it in 4L and neither trick worked. Seems like they...

Wheels often sieze themselves onto the hubs, Best thing is to jack the car up , place it on an axle stand, and hit the wheel rim, from inside out, place a piece of ragon the rimwhere you will hit it, one firm followed through hit, with a sledge hammer, you will need to rotate the wheel each time you hit the rim. Once the wheel is off, do what you must and on refitting, clean the area of the hub and the wheel parts where they mate with a wire brush, ideally after that if you can get some copperslip or grease, smear some around the wheel rim inner part and the hub where they mate. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES use the grease on the wheel studs, nuts or bolts, as it can cause the wheel fixture (nut or bolt ) to undo and the wheel can fall off. Hope that helps

Took wheels off and now 3 of them rub against the shock the front drivers side and both rear.

same wheels, if so then rim is not properly mounted remove one at a time, you may have to clean were rim mounts on to hub,the rim should slide on easy, you should not have to tighten lug nut to get the wheel to sit all the way back if thats the case then cleaning of center of rim and hub is needed, good luck.
