Google the part number that you gave if you want to find other suppliers.

Usually when made they come with rather poor quality rechargeable batteries in them to save money.

Lots of sellers on EBAY from China etc are selling them now there, got two of the packs, open phone, unplug, remove battery pack, install new on.

I got a few that came in five days from Hong Kong duty free for under ten dollars for two sets of the batteries.

My money would be the batteries are trash.

Usual life on new original ones about one year.

First of all it is possible to buy another phone if you go to uniden.com.

As much as the one that fell in the sink, remove the battery cover and battery, dry inside the phone and battery. Then place all parts in a warm room (NOT on a radiator) and leave for 24 hrs.Then reconnect and see if it works. My fingers are crossed for you.!

Could be, but it could also be interference from other devices in the home. Try moving the base (the one that connects to the phone line) to another location in the home first before buying a new battery.

I live in China and just received a Uniden 6.0 DECT phone from my family in the States, and can tell you NO they don't work without a voltage converter. Why in the world Uniden wouldn't make their new products universal (110V-240V) is beyond me; amazingly there is a whole world outside of the US and most of it runs on 220V-240V.
