Microwave turns on by itself

if new and its not working properly return for refund or replacement

Not to make light, but most broken items were sound at one point in time. With the price for new small microwaves running less than $100.00 it is likely not cost effective to repair unless there is a known easy fix.

From the description the whole keypad control board will need to be replaced, but keep in the part is more expensive than some brand new microwave oven.

what you are to do to fix up the problem is that,put iff the the oven for some time and allow it to relax it self with out an operation, then put it on again then if it has time programming or reset button then click on an of this button for it to restart it self ,

but if this problem remain then you will have to open the the oven then trace the wire down to the panel to clean up any from of dirt or liquid around the panel then couple it back at it was with this the problem will be solve.

you have to reset oven to manual by holding down 2 buttons then reset time your user manual should explain the process if you still have it if not keep trying

its the program bord inside your microwave playing up and to be realy honest its realy not worth paying out good money to get it fixed even if you could get the new bord,,,its better to just buy a new microwave there so cheap now you can pick them up for less than £50.00p and it would cost you all of that just for the repair man to come and look at it,,,,why do you think they all drive round in big cars?

Replace it. I work in sales for Whirlpool. It sounds like the door switch is either sticking or shorted. Also because your turntable continues to run it sounds like a short. Microwaves are a unit we only recommend an authorized technician to work on due to the microwaves it uses.

The cost of a new one is usually easily half or more the cost of repairing it.

Is it possible that some spray cleaner accidentally got into the controls?

Direct spraying of cleaners on the keypad and steam from the cooktop can damage the controls.

I always recommend that users spray the cleaner on a soft cloth (not on the keypad itself) then wipe the control panel off.

Also, I always recommend non-ammonia cleaners since ammonia can crack and damage plastic.

Time for a service call. Should not turn on by itself at any cause. Circuit board is my guess. May be cheaper/easier to get new microwave. My first one lasted about 15 yrs--and the circuit board (touchpad) died. Bought new microwave oven.
