Personally I would not spend the money, unless you exactly what is wrong. Guessing and throwing parts at it will be an expensive lesson.

sounds like support springs for the drum have become detached or broken. Do not use, suggest new machine as old ones not worth the investment.

It depends on the machine and if it's in good shape a new set is going to cost you $1200.00 a pump about $100.00 plus labor Its really up to you if you can afford a new unit or not. You may want to ask the repairman if he thinks the machine is good enough to keep, If there is any hoses or belts since he has it a part it will save some labor and would be some preventive maintenance may lube rollers or anything else he might see. But the guy working on it would be able to see if there s any metal wear or wear on rollers and could give you a better answer than we could.see may see something that may be make it not worth it. hope this helps and thanks for using fix-ya.

a 6 year old washer should not be scrapped unless it is made in china, replacing a 5$ bearing is worth fixing. even if you need to buy a drum unit.

I have a 1936 maytag gyratator wringer type electric washing machine in very good condtion - it works like a charm. What is it worth? I am out of room to continue storing it inside and it too good to leave outside - all the decals on it are like new with the exception of the bottom of the one with the years of maunfacture on it - it goes from 1922 to 1936

Well this means your motor is fried.
if it is more than 8 years old it is not worth putting good money into it. time to replace.

your TV's picture tube has gone ,just immediately change it.. it will be again working good.

Sorry, no solution. I discovered that the gearcase had gotten jammed. The machine is 8 years old, so it is not worth the cost of replacing the gearcase. Thanks for trying. P.S. The correct model # is 110.29842990, not 24432.

If hte set is a Sony, the standby light should be blinking a code. Report that code here and we should be able to guide you. That code will indicate the problem circuit within the set that has the fault.
