My dell laptop Inspiron N5050 is no longer gettin a signal from the hdmi cord to the toshiba flatscreen tv

I Googled for a solution online

Solution 1: dell.com support requires owner ship proof and i don't have it.

Solution 2:www.dellpasswords.com website seems to have the password, and i will try that.

I bought the Bios password from http://dellpasswords.com/ and received it with 5 minutes,
the password worked & the motherboard is unlocked,
It seems to me that I now need the hard drive password,
wasn't expecting that .

The only way of retrieving any files from a password protected hard disk without knowing the password is to send it to a data recovery company for unlocking, but not all data recovery companies could or would unlock a password protected HD

very likely your main board is gone. Get help from local computer store to fix the computer. It could be your charing port or even your ac adapter, Make sure use another ac adapter and see what happens.

You just need a HDMI cable to go from the laptop to the TV. It is refered to as a patch cable. You then go into the TV menu and set it to component or in some cases it will say computer. The VGA on the TV just allows both style interfaces to be connected.

I assume you would switch the TV's source to VGA. Is that correct?

Connect it the same way you did before, with the VGA cable. Then hit Fn + F8 on your keyboard, to switch the signal from your laptop screen to the VGA cable. Then select VGA as your source on your TV as you did before.

There is a hdmi port on the left hand side of your dell laptop. Get a hdmi cord and plug it in.
