Google.com homepage for internet won't stay. How do I fix it?

I follow directions, use Tool, use Internet options, Homepage, etc. but internet returns to msn. homepage. When I click on "Make Google your homepage" it says that page is not available.

Hello,

Have you tried deleting your Internet cache and temp files? When you open your Internet web page, Click on the Tool Bar from the menu, select Delete Browse History, and delete all files. This sometimes help speed up your system.

Hi,

If you are using Internet Explorer then follow the instruction bellow to rectify it.

Open Internet Explorer and click on the Tools tab on the top right hand side, then click on Internet options.
In the general tab you see what your home page should be. Highlight the web address and then type in http://www.msn.com. Click on Apply and then OK.

To see if it's worked all you have to do click on the home button at the top.

I have the same problem and it just started today! If I try to go to www.msn.com I get redirected to http://dell.v14.msn.com/ which doesn't exist.

I am using IE8 and Vista Home Premium with SP2.

Usually the homepage on a new PC is either Microsoft, or your computers own homepage.
If you have lost the sidebar in windows vista, or the widgets in windows 7. Right click on the desktop, you should find the option to restore/add widgets

Hello Peter,

In order to prevent programs like AVG from changing your homepage please pay attention to those options during the installing of these programs. They will often ask you to install additional toolbars or change your homepage.

To change your homepage please do the following:

Open your internet browser
Open the options/preferences
Usually the field for homepages is in the general tab or first menu you get when you open the options
Enter your desired homepage address in the homepage field
Save your changes
Enjoy your new (or old) homepage!

Accidentally activated inbox as homepage want to return to google as homepage

Open internet explorer -> Click on settings button on Right upper pane -> Go to Internet Options -> under general tab, first option is to set your home page. Writ the URL "www.google.com". Click on Apply button.

Internet Exploder (meant to be funny)
Tools --- Internet Options ---- Enter: http://www.google.com --- Apply ---- Ok ---- Close browser --- Open browser.

Click the Chrome menu snp_2696434_en_v1

on the browser toolbar.
Select Settings.

Add the home button to the browser toolbar
Homepage button is off by default. Select the "Show Home button" checkbox in the "Appearance" section to show it on the browser toolbar.
Set your homepage
When the "Show Home button" checkbox is selected, a web address appears below it. If you want the Homepage button to open up a different webpage, click Change to enter a link. You can also choose the New Tab page as your homepage.

Hi Douglas,
Open your internet browser and open Internet Options by selecting Tools - Internet Options. Then select the General tab. Within this tab you will be able to type in the google web address and then select apply or ok. This should have google now saved as your homepage.

If this doesnt work, open your internet search engine, type in google and open the homepage. Then follow the instructions as above but this time when you enter the General tab, you will see the option to Use Current Pages. Select this button and then again hit ok or apply.

How do I make Google my homepage?

On Internet Explorer to set home page as google.com, do the following steps:

Press windows key + R
Type "inetcpl.cpl" press enter
In the homepage area of this window that appears.
Replace it with "google.com"
Click "apply" now close it.
Internet Explorer should now open with google.com as long as you do not have malware on the computer.

I wanted the google toolbar on my Yahoo Homepage not google Homepage

You will need to reset your homepage to Yahoo. When you installed the toolbar (which will be available on ALL sites) it set your homepage to Google. If you're using Internet Explorer, click on Tools > Internet Options. On the General tab, type in the address (http://www.yahoo.com/) into the Homepage box. If you're using Chrome, click the wrench icon, then click Options. Select Open the Following Pages, then type in the address. If you're using Firefox, click Tools > Options. Type the address in the Homepage box on the General tab (if you're using a newer version of Firefox, click the orange Firefox button in the top left corner and select Options).

XP:

open Internet Explorer, click Tools > Internet Options and change the homepage in the Homepage section on the first tab.

IE-
1. Click Tools
2. Click "Internet options"
3. On "homepage" change it to www.google.com

Please make my home page google...I do not know how to do it.

Hello,
Go to control panel and open Internet Options. The first page that pops up will have a section that says Home Page. Type your home page that you want (e.g. http://www.google.com) and click APPLY and then click OK.
