I follow directions, use Tool, use Internet options, Homepage, etc. but internet returns to msn. homepage. When I click on "Make Google your homepage" it says that page is not available.

Have you tried deleting your Internet cache and temp files? When you open your Internet web page, Click on the Tool Bar from the menu, select Delete Browse History, and delete all files. This sometimes help speed up your system.

If you are using Internet Explorer then follow the instruction bellow to rectify it.
Open Internet Explorer and click on the Tools tab on the top right hand side, then click on Internet options.
In the general tab you see what your home page should be. Highlight the web address and then type in http://www.msn.com. Click on Apply and then OK.
To see if it's worked all you have to do click on the home button at the top.

I have the same problem and it just started today! If I try to go to www.msn.com I get redirected to http://dell.v14.msn.com/ which doesn't exist.
I am using IE8 and Vista Home Premium with SP2.

Usually the homepage on a new PC is either Microsoft, or your computers own homepage.
If you have lost the sidebar in windows vista, or the widgets in windows 7. Right click on the desktop, you should find the option to restore/add widgets
