Sounds like your phone or line is now short circuit and is holding the line so it appears busy to incoming callers. Try disconnecting the pnone and line right up to the incoming point of your house to find the problem.

SOURCE: voice mail

Depending on the type and version of your partner system the procedure should be as follows:
1) from either ext 10 or 11 press the feature key and 00 on the dialpad
2) press the left hand intercom twice
the display should say system programming
3) dial "#506"
the display should say vms hunt delay
4) enter either 1 for day ringing assignment or 2 for night ring
5) dial the 2 digit line number i.e. line 1 is 01...
the display should say the ammount of rings previously programmed (3 Rings)
6) dial "2" on the dial pad
repeat the steps from number 3 on for the rest of the lines
7) press feature 00 whem finished

hope this helps.

Incoming calls on Sony Ericsson K800i used to prompt Answer/Busy options, but recently I get Send/Busy, both resulting in sending a busy-signal.

Try disconecting the base unit from power and phone line for 10 minutes and also remove for a minute and reinstall the battery on the hand unit.
Should reset to factory settings.

Best to you

Cant receive faxes. constant busy signal when dialing in.

Hi Janet
Try using a standard phone to call your Fax Line
Connect a phone to this Line to test for voice
Disconnect Fax Machine from Phone Line
Reset Fax machine
The Fax machine is supposed to respond to the right tones being sent down the voice line
If it is not responding & all else works then check your Fax settings for "Receiving"

I have GE Model 28118 6.0 and the manual. However, when I am talking on this phone and someone else tries to call me, instead of them getting a busy signal, my phone goes to voice mail. How can I change...

On these types of systems, that's part of what voice mail is for...to catch your caller rather than just issue a busy signal. If you have call waiting, then your phone should give you a tone when another call comes in so you can answer it and put it on hold and return to the original call. Only if you don't respond to the call waiting tone will the phone then go to voice mail. If you don't want the voice mail to take calls when you are present, you most likely will need to turn off your voice mail when you are present. Then, if there is no voice mail to fall back to, the phone will give a busy signal.

We cannot receive faxes. Gives a busy signal.

Unplug the phone line from the machine. Wait a few minutes then try calling your fax number from a phone while leaving the phone line disconnected from the machine. If it rings fine from the phone, then re-install the phone line to the fax machine. Try making the call again. If you now get a busy signal then the modem in your fax machine has gone bad and is holding the line open. Make sure when installing the phone line you are placing the cord into the "line" port on the machine and not the phone port.
Good Luck and thank you for using Fixya.

Cant send or receive fax just get a fast busy signal when I try to send fax. please help

Normally a fast busy signal indicates a problem with the phone line. You need to call the phone company and have them do a "line check"
Sometimes they can fix this over the phone, sometimes a service call is required. No charge to you tho.

Call receptionist and dont get busy signal

You need to dial two commands on the receptionist's phone. On the intercom dial 7311# for outside line call waiting signals and 7321# for inside calls. (0 cancels).
