there is no capacitor in 3 phase motors. if you are trying to tun 480 motor on 240 or 208 there is a wiring plate on motor, perhaps you should not attempt this., you do know that the amperage will increase if you run lower voltage.

A three phase motor will usually have three contacts and a ground. Hopefully the ground is distinguished somehow. The ground will have no resistance to the motor frame.
Delta is dangerous, it has a 'hot' leg, 220 volts to ground. The other two have 110 volts to ground (or 115 or 120). You can hook up any of the three power wires to any of the three motor wires. If the motor spins the wrong way, reverse any two, it doesn't matter which ones.

Some motors need a Y and Delta, with a special switch, to start up, you start with the Y. the motor starts turning, but does not give full power. after a few seconds (depends what the manual says) you switch to delta, to get full power. To let it run on full power in Y you need 1,4 times the voltage.
If everything runs fine, you won't have damaged anything.

verify all three legs of the power are on. You could have a single blown fuse that would cause the motor to single phase and not run.

depends if motor is wired in star or delta configeration as this determines strapping links in motor terminal box. check voltage for your country on motor data plate and this will tell you the configeration

If your question is common, the wye/delta is a way to reduce the starting current of a large three phase asinchronous motor.
When a three phase motor is first connected in wye (star), the starting (peak) current is about 3 times less than this in delta. When already in motion the electromotive force will make the peak current when turned in delta much less, than that with a stopped motor.

Ok Now for the restof it You have asmall book that came with the inverter so go to page 9 and you will see the drawing for mm440 at the bottom you will see the connection for the speed pot. which is 1,2,3,4, wire in as shown make sure the wiping connection is in 3..now wire in a switch across 9 which is the common and 5 this starts and runs the inverter when you open the switch the inverter will ramp down and stop....
