I downloaded the manual and it is not in there, but on the review on this machine its supposed to have that capability. That's the reason that I bought it.

Your knives may be blunt and need sharpening or replacement.
Check also if the knives are aligned properly. Remove the material and turn the handwheel slowly. The knives should pass each over like a pair of scissors and there should not be any cap between the blades.
If everything seems to be okay and it still does noet cut tne material, replacement is the only option.

Mine was destroyed in the floods a few weeks ago and I found a download and printable one at simplicityhomecare.com click on the download tab and select manuals and then under sergers chose your model. Good luck with your project.
