A pre-amplifier allows a range of components with different output levels to connect to an amplifier. Usually one is used to allow a low-level magnetic phono cartridge to be used with the line-level input of an amplifier. These used to be separate units; now integrated amplifiers combine control function with amplifying low-level signals. They also provide tone, volume and balance control.

Myryad ma120 power amp, loud pop when switched off

Sounds like a Electrolytic capacitor has failed. Search backwards from the speaker connections inside the unit to the main PC board. Replace the first ones that you come accross that are linked with the speakers.

My Sunfire Amplifier wouldn't turn on. It keep blowing fuses.

Fuses blow when an overload is detected. In your case an IC or transistor has shorted and is now acting like a piece of wire. Chances are it will be one of the main devices on the large heatsink in the unit, or could be in the power supply section. My moneys on the heatsink ones.

I have a Behringer EP2000 amplifier and only one of the amplifier channels blows a fuse everytime it is turned on. What could be the problem?

A fuse blows like that because of an overload. Nine times out of 10 it will a transistor that is acting like a piece of wire. If you have a Ohm meter try the output devices. You will soon find the faulty part as it will be like you have touched the test probes together!

NAD C270 amp won't switch from red power/protection to green.

The AH may denote "slo-blo" style as opposed to Fast-acting
A fast-acting fuse will look like a single strand of wire ( maybe wiggly looking) ..A Slo-blo will have an element in it and a spring

I need to replace the external fuse on a marantz Model 32 amp.

Well, take good look at the Fuse itself on metal area.
If it says AGC, then fast acting.
If it says MDL, then Slow Acting.

If you cannot figure it out, then just use Fast Acting since it is more commonly used in smaller Receivers and Amplifiers and Fast Acting will cutoff faster (compair to Slow Acting) if there is any unknown Prblem with Chassis.
