Can you stack if they weren't designed for it?

I have front-loading Bosch washer and dryer. The problem is that it is not the model that is stackable. I'm wondering if it is OK to stack them IF you build a strong enough structure to fit over the washer and that would hold the dryer.

My thought would be a table-like structure that was high enough to set over the top of the washer and then the dryer would sit on that table, not actually on the washer.

If so, would a structure built with 2x4's and a 3/4" piece of plywood on top be strong enough?

Ive seen people build there own stack unit. alot of techs will tell you no but ive seen this done and there has been no issue. just make sure your platform is strong enough to handle the tumble of the dryer during normal operation

Sears Model 417 stackable washer and dryer

The model that you provide is incomplete. However, if the washer loads from the top, they cannot be separated. If it loads from the front, they can.

Asko stackable dryer/Bosch stackable washer compatability

If you arer going to replace the washer with a Bosch Axxis model, it will simply plug into the back of the dryer (if it is electric) because normally the dryers are 220 VAC. Works A-OK.
