NEVER run any motor with too much oil. You can blow the seals. Let some out to achieve the correct level. Also, verify that you are reading the dip stick correctly. Many motors you DON'T screw the dip stick in when takeing a reading. Just wipe it and set it in.

SOURCE: Pressure Washer problem

If it has the same good compression it did when new, replacing the carb will probably fix your problems. Be real sure about the compression, an engine with low compression and a funky carb might just as well get replaced.

SOURCE: Honda Pressure Washer HP 5 not starting

You can try spraying some carburetor cleaner into the carb. If it starts for a minute, your carburetor need cleaning. When you added new gas did you remove the old gas first? Is the air filter clean?

Rear spark plug bank is fouled. The 3 in front are fine. What cold be the problem?

I am assuming it is oil fouled rather than fuel fouled. Oil fouling is usually due to valve stem seal leakage. Most engines have the oil return on the cylinder head at the rear. When the engine is shut off, some oil pools at the rear of the head. If the valve guide seals are worn, then the oil will leak around the stem of the #4 valve and eventually foul the plug. If there are no real issues with the engine other than this one, it is usually best to keep a clean plug or two available and swap out the plug periodically when fouling is detected. Then clean the fouled one and keep for reuse later. If it is happening too often, getting the cylinder head reconditioned is a good idea.

Why won't my pressure washer start and is blowing oil out of its exhaust?

Oil has fouled the spark plug, This usually does not happen unless it got knocked over. Take out the plug and clean it off and see if it starts.

B&E pressure washer w/ comet 3540 pump

Things to check:
1) is water coming out of the bottom of the pump or is the oil in the crankcase high level and milky yellow. If so your seals are bad.

2) Your check valves might not be seating properly. A couple of fouled check vavles will cause either no pressure or pulsing pressure. A good inlet water strainer keeps foreign matter out of valves. But valves do wear out and get build up that keeps them from working right.

3) Your unloader valve might be worn or fouled. Bad unloader would usually show as low pressure ( but more than hose pressure) or low volume out the trigger nozzle.

Valves are your most likely problem.

I bought a new craftsman pressure washer 2700psi. Put oil and gas in it. Cranked on the first try. It worked for about 15 minutes and then cut off. Now the pull start is very hard to pull and will not...

Hello
Take out the spark plug and try pulling,if it is still hard then then there is a problem with the pull start mechanism.
Check the plug for oil fouling or fresh oil.If there is excessive oil you may have bad rings.

If in doubt, craftsman will honor the 1 year warranty no questions asked, for a new unit.

My spark plug keeps getting fouled?

You must use the washer at full rpm - this is the way the units are set up to operate. If you don't your plugs will get fouled. Your spark plugs are fine.

On a generac pressure washer that works fine.

Oil level in pump and motor OK? Spark plug not fouled? Has it sat for a while - carb dirty? Running (loaded) throttle rpm not high enough?
