Magnavox NB500MG1F Blu Ray Player: I've been having trouble getting the SD card slot to read the videos I put onto the SD card. I've tried everything from converting all the video files to AVCHD file types as well as trying their original file types, unformatting the SD card, reformatting the SD card, trying different SD cards, trying different videos, and I'm still getting the same error message: "Media Device Error --Please check the Memory Device-- There is no playable file in the Memory Device, or the format is not available." Does anyone have any suggestions to try? Is there a certain format the SD card must be set to? Do the video files need to be converted to a certain format? All fix it suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It is obvious to me that the player can't read the video off an SD drive. In my experience that card slot is for installing updated firmware not video material.

Some videos, like music videos, have a copyright protection system on them that will not allow them to play even if you use the converter. You can also go to Philips' website and get the upgrade for your Media Converter - worth a whirl.

SOURCE: IVE BEEN TRYING TO GET VIDEOS ON 4EVER!!!!

Hi,

I use Mediacoder (open source and free, yay!) for transcoding files into H.264. It's a bit involved and I don't recommend this for the average user.

Use instructions per 3rd post.

SOURCE: everytime I try to load videos onto my mp3 it wont

Hi dalychris,

Next time you connect the mp3 to the computer, go to the folder where the videos are dropped (generally a folder named VIDEO) and check what the extension is. If it is not mp4, you'll have to convert and resize it. There are plenty of free and paid programs available for such conversions. The standard video format for a walkman is the same as that for an ipod, .mp4, so you can try out this site: http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/ . There are other freeware programs available too, like VirtualDub that you can use to convert your videos, or paid programs like Xilisoft. After the conversion is done, you should be able to transfer and play the file easily.

Do you know the codes to unlock the region codes for a Magnavox MBP5630 Model Blu Ray Player?

The problem with unlocking region codes is that you then have to reset it back to be able to watch U.S. disks. Best thing to do is get a region-free blue ray player - search online, there are quite a few.

What formatting is necessary to play videos on the SD card slot of my Magnavox NB500MG1F Blu Ray Player?

The SD card is mainly for photos, but you can do video.
The SD card needs to be formatted as fat 16
The video has to be profile 1.1

If you use the larger SDHC cards, they can be formatted fat 32.
It works best if you format it with the player and not your computer.

You should know what kind of flashcard you need depends on the price and function, also on the
console you have! If you have a DS or DSi console, playing 3ds games is not a reality for you,
you should choose one from kinds of flashcards that support ds and dsi games! You have many
choice there, r4i gold, r4i dual-core, r4i sdhc and so on. They may have a little difference on
price, but that's doesn't matter! Function is another factor you must care, many people want
to use flashcard to play retro gba and snes games on ds, dsi and 3ds. At that time, you should
put functions that flashcards have in comparison though they have the most similar functions!
Supercard dstwo is the best flashcard to play emulator games ever as I know!

What is a sd card fof

If you store movies on a SD memory card you can insert the SD memory card into this player to view the movie. You may have taken a video of your children on a video camera which stored the video on the SD memory card.
For information for viewing movies/videos on a SD memory card check out page 18 on the User manual.
If you do not have a manual then you can download the user manual from this WEB site

Wow it seems as though you've pretty much done all of the applicable troubleshooting for this issue. The only other thing I can advise in this case is to consider purchasing a SD card. Some Blu Ray players require a little extra memory to function properly so they come with an SD card slot. Of course no one tells you this when you buy the player but it may be the solution to your problem.

Most of these combo machines are not up-converting. The best they can usually do is 480p. Does your owner's manual for the DVD say it can provide 720p?

My Magnavox bluray disc player NB500MG9 will not play bluray dvds. Please help

My Blu-Ray will not play x disc
A Blu-ray player can play DVD or CD and still not play Blu-ray. It may play Blu-ray but not CD or DVD, or burned discs. This is all caused by the 'optical' a part that reads the disc in the machine. Your player will need service as a Blu-ray optic cannot just be 'dropped' into a player.
