I suppose you did not forget to engage either 'A' or 'B' speaker selectors?

I would double-check the speaker wiring for correct pairing of the speaker leads. Do you have the possibility to check the amplifier from the headphones output?

Most of these problems are rooted in a failed power amp module.
I'm working on an older technics unit but with the same troubles.

SOURCE: Max. wattage for speakers w/ Technics Receiver SA-GX100?

I too have a Technics SA-GX100 and it's rated at 2 x 40W @ 8 Ohms. I have the Technics SB-2840 floor model speakers hooked to it, which are rated at 200W Music Input - 8 ohms. It sounds very nice just to be a 40W receiver.

SOURCE: digital optical output for technics 5.1 surround sound receiver

I went to the HDTV plasma manual. It stated the only way the digital optical audio output would work (from this TV) was to go to the menu, select audio and turn off the TV speakers. Basically, it had nothing to do with the technics receiver.

My Tchnics Sa-Da10 shuts down on what appears to

Ahh technics. Technics always had overheating problems, trust me. Every since they started, their amps would get so hot they would hurt to touch. The reason the fan is not coming on seams to be something inside the circuit board. I'm sure that technics could fix this. If the fan works out of the receiver, then it must not be the fan. ;P

I would maybe get a computer fan, and just put it on top of the receiver and turn it on, or send it in for fixing. Also, do you have to crank the volume to get the speakers to play at your volume, and does the impeadence match the receiver. Because you may be pushing the receiver too hard.

Initial response:

There could be a number of reasons for this. It woyld help if you could indicate what resistors you changed. The circuit designation should be marked on the PC board. Please post those here and I'll look further and provide some possible solutions.

Thanks,

Dish Network Box, Technics Receiver, RCA LCD TV connections

I would use the s-video out & red & white rca audio out on dish box to s- video & audio in on the t.v., then audio out from t.v.(RCA, red & white) to one of the inputs (RCA) on the receiver.
