In general try using the Windows Repair Menu by pressing F8 during startup, after the BIOS and POST screens have been displayed. Usually the option for a factory reset will be inside the first menu choice. It is also quite common for the key combination of CTRL + F11 held down during the POST screen to activate your laptop's factory restore process.
Aside from these options, if you can successfully boot the computer and load the Windows desktop, many Gateway computers have an option for running factory restore inside the Gateway folder under the Start menu.
