That's not good, obviously. Who serviced it?
How long ago? Do you have a receipt with warranty of service?
Generally, Rolex's run forever without much service. If an authorized Rolex technician worked on your watch, it would be running like a .... Like a Rolex! Kidding aside, get in touch with the services, nukes you were simply told that by the seller.

My three-year old (real) Rolex Oyster Perpetual Lady Date Just started losing time after just six months. It would stop and start intemittently and lose a few minutes every hour. Winding did no good. I...

It seems to me that the company servicing your timepiece (Rolex or otherwise) must have missed something or did not properly service your timepiece.

You are correct that your watch should not require service every ten months. After servicing, your Rolex, like most all automatics, should run properly for 3-5 years depending on environmental conditions. Our Rolex service offers a one year warranty, and if any issues present within that time, the service is free.

I would recommend using a company that has a full time Certified Master Horologist on staff to service your timepiece that offers a warranty on their work. Thanks for the rating, and we are happy to help you and service your Rolex.

My wife's oyster perpetual is running exceptionally slow. It was cleaned and seemed to be running fine for the past 8 years. I've phoned Rolex service in New York with a $600 price for basic cleaning. This...

Hi Bob,

Unfortunately, Rolex automatics, like all mechanical watches, must be serviced every 3-5 years. This is because the oils in the movement dry and congeal on the bottom of the wheels (gears) and dust and debris in combination work like sandpaper to cause wear on the parts.

Think of it like a fine automobile, one would never neglect the oil change in their new Mercedes because the engine could be damaged. In this case it is the movement that can have excessive wear. Also, the mainspring at this point may need to be replaced, which is the power source of your movement. We service Rolex and all other high grade watches, and always beat the price of the Rolex service center, their time frame, and can provide discontinued parts where they cannot.

We are happy to service your timepiece at a much better price than that offered. Feel free to contact us through email or phone.

I dropped my rolex

Its time for a service.
Take it to any Rolex re-seller that offers repair or to any good timepiece service center. If its a vintage piece i would recommend sending it to Rolex, paying the extra cost to receive the watch with full Rolex repair documents and service history. The Rolex web site has information on this. Also this company does a fine job on Rolex repair. https://www.bobswatches.com/rolex-repair-service

Nail on the head. Take it to a good repair/service shop that does Rolex service. Know this, it wont be cheap. But you will get the watch back in great condition and it will run perfect.

Keeps stopping even when i am wearing it on my wrist.

Your Rolex sounds like it has a problem with the automatic winding gear train.A Rolex needs regular servicing when parts can be inspected and replaced.Servicing is about 3-5 year intervals.
You need a specialist Rolex watchmaker as only they can obtain Rolex parts.Try www.rolexrepairs.co.uk a full service will take 2-3 weeks.

My rolex datejust watch has stopped working...rolex watches don't operate on batteries right? Why has it stopped ticking?

mcdevito75 here, The answer is no, Rolex watches do not operate with a battery. Most Rolex watches are Automatic winding with the motion of your wrist / arm. Of course if you leave your Rolex on the dresser for say 30 hours, it will run down, simply hold the watch in your hand and with a gentle rocking motion say from 6--to 12 O'Clock for about 30 seconds, this will give your automatic Rolex an initial wind up, from there you just wear the watch and it will continealy wind itself. You may also have the non automatic Rolex in which case you would have to wind it dailey. If your Rolex will not run at all no matter what you try, Check out the repair service directory here at fixya, bottom of the page click on repair service directory then watches.

WILL RUN A SHORT TIME THEN STOP

mcdevito75 here, I would imagine your Rolex is an automatic, not all Rolexes are. After 2 days not running at all your Rolex needs a very good start not just putting it on and that"s it. Sorry to say!, I would ask you to do this, With your watch close to your ear I would like you to wind the watch, listen closely, if you haer a clicking or a drag sound you know you have to give about 20 winds to your watch before you put it on, after the 20 winds the automatic takes over. If the stem just spins and no sound, Click or drag, then your rolex is fully automatic, after you put it on you"ll have to ttwist your wrist back and forth to get the automatic moveing to wind your watch somewhat. Twist your wrist back and forth maybe 20--30 times, this way your watch has an initial wind and as you wear it the winding continues with the motion of your wrist, after it"s wound pretty good if it stops and goes, have the watch serviced.

Stopwatch second hand stops/jams at 57 seconds point, jamming the whole works. watch stops. keeps excellent time otherwise if stopwatch not used. 2003 SS model. bought new from rolex.

this watch will need a service from a rolex trained repairer wich wont be cheap 700 dollars min or 500uk pounds min..you could try tapping watch in palm of hand to see if a batton or luminous paint has come loose, then all it needs is movement taking out and blown clean inside case.any decent repairer can do this.sometimes the teeth on a wheel can wear in one place hence it always stops in same place.recomend service as best action, you never loose on a rolex...
