My Juki DDL-555-5, was damage on the wire the plugs into the wall power outlet. I had connected and wrapped it with electrical tape, this was last January. At first, whenever I turn on, just split second it automatically shut off. The I loosen the electrical tape wrapped on the wire, it then worked. I had used it until today, not it suddenly shuts off automatically. Same issue like before is happening. What I did is just cut off from the damage part that was wrapped with electrical tape then this part of the wire I connect this to power switch(on & off of the machine). I had put the clip like it was before. But still shutting off automatically. What is wrong with my machine?
Get a new cord.never rewire things you know nothing about.plus if item is computerized in anyway.you are corrupting the electronic brain with uneven current.and its just not safe.A FIRE HAZZARD
Sounds like the hot wire and the neutral are touching, each wire has to be taped separately , for instance if there is a black wire and a white wire you connect black to black and wrap with electrical tape then connect white to white and wrap with tape till no wire shows and when you pinch it between your fingers no wire pokes through. Then you can tape the two together. Do NOT do any of this with it plugged in! I would really like a pic of your cord so that I could give you a better assessment .
Either you have dead short the wiring with your fix or you may be overloading the circuit. It should be 20 amp. Is your circuit breaker popping. Are you resetting the breaker? Change the plug. Electricity is like water. If it get's blocked it stops working.
Replace the whole wire from the switch to the wall outlet. Black is hot wire, white is neutral, and green is the ground.
First be sure that on/off switch not damage then that your electrical connection are correct and secure, also check the light connection and switch if applicable last check in the owners manual the lubrication points and proceed,

Your safety switch may be defective. The constant over heating in the original wire may have damaged the safety switch.

SOURCE: Juki Sewing machine DDL-555. After 4-5 hours use feed not moving
Sounds like as the machine builds up friction from extended use, some vital part is lacking lubrication and is seizing up. A good service person will remove ALL of the covers and thoroughly air clean and oil every moving part. Sometimes these dry points are hard to find and patience is required.
You can get a sewing machine oiler with a long applicator and put a drop of oil on anything that moves, but over oiling can be messy.

Buy new plug tip for wire could be damaged tip if not could be frayed or damaged wire under coating and both sides of outlet are always hit its the equipment that directs the flow of current if not wire or plug tip its the coil inside the machine
Both of outlet are always hot i meant
I think the frayed cables that were taped could possibly be touching and casing s short. This can cause a shut down if the unit has such over current protection. If this plug goes direct into a wall it is alternating current AC
not from a Ac to D.C. Converter type power supply and cannot be accidentally reversed.
Take this unit straight to an authorised repair centre. STOP using it as it could be dangerous if mains powered. The repair should be minimal cost, indeed it may just require a new lead? Do it properly n fix it once n for all safety is all important.
