Camera is not recognized by the computer. USB port is enabled and working (I can download from my Fujifilm camera through the same USB port). I have uninstalled and installed the driver many times. I have followed Kodak's 6 page procedure for checking USB port configuration, conflict identification, etc. . I get the following message on the USB conflict- "Windows can't load the device driver because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory - code 38".

This solution would have been helpful if I had recieved it sooner. I sent this in on Nov. 1st and it is now Dec. 11th, thus I have already found the solution. You were correct but hardly any help since it took so long for you to respond.

I was able to connect my KODAK M753 camera to my computer, turn it on and have my computer recognize the camera as a drive. Which allowed me to copy, cut and or paste my pictures off or on my memory card. since formatting my computer. I attach my camera to the same computer, and now, it sees it as a camera/scanner, and now only allows me to copy and paste pictures from the card. i loaded the software for the drivers, but it did not help. my computer doesn't recognize the device. how do i get it back to the way it was, is there a driver that i can install that will allow me to copy and cut and paste, as if it was a drive?

Had the same problem with my kodak m753. I deleted the kodak software by going to start>setting>control panel>Add/Remove>Kodak Easyshare software. When complete go to www.kodak.com/go/clear. and follow the instructions. When you restart your program do-not reload this Kodak software ( there seems to be a problem with it that they have not fixed). If your camera worked before then it will work in the usb port this time. If you need a program for sorting and keeping track of your pic's I suggest Picasa2 or Adobe file share ( do a google to find them) Both are free and excellent They will recognize your camera and you will be able get the pic's you what from your camera.

This happens when you have another device on the USB (such as a multi-function printer, scanner, etc) that loads the USBSCAN.SYS file. It is not a mutex driver so it can't load at the same time.

Kodak z710 I cannot transfer photos onto my computer.

It may be time to buy a card reader for your computer. You can get one at a department or electronics store for not much more than a cup of coffee.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

How do I delete photos from my internal memory

KODAK EASYSHARE Software is only compatible with KODAK EASYSHARE C-, CD-, CW-, CX-, DX-, LS-, M-, P-, V-, and Z-Series Digital Cameras; and DC4800 Digital Cameras. If you have one of these camera models, go to Step-by-Step Solutions and Repair tool to help resolve this problem.

If you have one of the other digital cameras, you cannot use KODAK EASYSHARE Software to transfer pictures to your computer. Use the software that came with your digital camera to transfer the pictures to the computer. When your pictures are on the computer, you can use EASYSHARE Software to edit, share, and print your pictures.

How do I get my pictures off my internal memory of my camera?

To transfer pics to your computer you will need to install the Kodak EasyShare software (you can download it at www.Kodak.com) and connect the camera to the computer via USB cable or a camera dock. To delete the photos press the Review button and then the Delete button. The camera will give you the option of deleting everything or a single pic.

What exactly is a kodak camera dock? I have a M893 IS kodak camera and having difficulty installing the software so I can transfer my photos to computer - so I thought maybe the "kodak camera jack" would...

The Kodak camera dock provides automatic battery charging and automatic connection to your computer when the camera is "docked." There is also a version of the dock that includes a printer, but I have found the printer to be poor quality and very unreliable. The dock must be connected to the computer via USB, and the Kodak EasyShare software must still be installed. The dock is a very handy accessory, but it will not solve your problem. What might help though is a visit to Kodak.com where you can get a free download of the latest EasyShare software that is correct for your operating system.

I cant transfer my photos to my pc from Kodak EasyShare CX7430

Remove any Kodak Software. Reboot the computer Plug in the camera. This should now be listed as an extra drive in 'My Computer' and/or The scanner/Camera Wizard Window will come up asking what action to take.

Download movie by Kodak Easyshare

Instead of using the software... Try uninstalling the software and use the Microsoft Scanner and Camera wizard to transfer photos/video to your computer. It should recognize everything on your camera, and then you can copy and paste the photos/videos into whatever folder you specify. In my experience, Kodak's EasyShare software was able to recognize .MOV movies. If your computer is slow, you might want to wait a while for all the processing to be done and check if the videos were recognizeD
