SOURCE: epson powerlite s4 projector is pink
I assume this is an LCD. I don't remember the s4 being a DLP projector.
This sounds like the LCD panel used for the red color has gone out. The image is made up of red, green and blue images layered upon the screen. If the red panel has gone out then there is nothing filtering out the red light in the image. This causes a nice red hue to the whole screen.
It could be a simple open and reconnect fix. I personally have never opened a projector, so I'm not going to walk you through it as I do not know how hard it would be to tinker with. It should eb a cheap fix for a true repair man though.

Have you replaced the lamp yet? You should replace the lamp because if you reset it with the old lamp, it could possibly wear out and explode inside the projector. Reset instructions are in the new lamp box.
