I have used other types of input cables with the same results.

I assume your Misubishi is not close to anything electrical. However, it sounds like you have had an interference for some time. This will ineviteably cause the HDTV LCD to collapse. LCD's don't respond well close to heat. Is there a vent close? LCD's do well in a properly vented area but with all this said.......they will pick up interference from anything electrical. A few questions to ask ones self........are there any wireless devices or chargers close to the LCD? Might there be an oven, a/c unit or other wiring with 220 volts anywhere close to the LCD such as in the wall?
The Mitsubishi LT is a very reliable, multi component ready set that allows great viewing with surround sound. However, stop and think about this interference. It is not something in the unit. It is an interference. Look hard and when you've discovered it.....you won't believe how crystal clear this set will be.
Let me know what you find...Thanks for using Fixya and add any comments that may help us help you.
SOURCE: Insignia 37 inch lcd inputs not working except for hdmi inputs
TV when hooked to Direct TV by HDMI will not work, it must be hooked by RCA cables. I now have 1080i rather than 1080P. The HDMI cable and the direct TV box has been changed. What can the problem be?

I have also experienced the same problem on two occasions, but my Sony TV KDLV3000 has actually been backwards and forwards on three occasions to be repaired. I have had a new control unit and will be having a second screen replacement shortly. I have contacted my local Sony Centre and they have stated that they will only replace the TV if there are THREE IDENTICAL faults.
COME ON SONY CENTRE GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND TAKE A NOTE FROM JOHN LEWIS THERE CUSTOMER CARE IS SECOND TO NONE.
Not sure I'll buy a Sony again after this experience having been a loyal Sony customer for a number of years, will probably look at a Samsung or LG next time.

This happened to me with my 5080 also. No amount of messing with the remote inputs/menus/controls would work. The menus and on screen info displayed, but would not display any input. Solution was to unplug the power cord (not turn off, UNPLUG), let it sit for a while, then plug it back in. It came right back. Apparently the onboard computer gets a little confused sometimes and removing its power source clears it out.
