We bought a 2003 Jaguar x-type, the couple we bought it from left the lights on and it completely drained the battery. Since then the radio has not worked or prompted the computer to ask for the security code. When we brought it home yesterday I played around with the radio and got it to work but I am unable to change channels or change the time. The CD player works but you can't shuffle between songs. I tried disconnecting the battery twice with the key turned on to drain all power out. Is there a way to prompt the computer to bring up the code prompt?

I bought a radio off Ebay and it worked without any code - sorry. I did hear that there is a reset though, something about holding MEM-A and another button on the right
The 4-digit code for your radio is listed on the two radio security cards supplied with the vehicle.
Enter the code by using the pre-set buttons numbered 1 to 6 and a "beep sound" occurs.
If the code is not properly entered, then begin the code entry again, starting with the first digit. If the code is not properly entered in three successive attempts the radio will not accept any entry until the radio has been left on for one hour (the radio display will show the word 'WAIT'). After one hour in the 'on' position the radio will accept three additional entries.
Note: Should you lose your radio security cards, contact your Jaguar Dealer, who for security reasons will require proof of vehicle ownership.
Hi The car is looking for you to enter the security (anti-theft) code for the radio. If power is removed (battery disconnected), radio assumes it has been taken from the car and protects itself by means of security code. You should have a small ( credit card size ) security card with the radio code written on it. The instructions for entering the code is in your owners manual.
Simple contact you local Jag dealership and ask them, they will need the VIN No and there is a small charge (about £8). Then follow the instructions on http://www.bluejag.co.uk to enter code.
