It should work "out-of-the-box".
Be sure to connect using "straight-through" (not "cross-over") Ethernet cables.
Connect from the 'WAN' port on the router to your DSL-modem (or cable-modem).
Power-off the DSL/Cable modem.
Power-on the DSL/Cable modem.
Power-off the D-Link.
Power-on the D-Link.
Reboot your computer.
You should be good.

I turned my computer on in the morning and I had no internet access. Comcast reset modem and had me check on the computer's connection to the internet and all was well. So we had to link the CPU...

Connect a PC hardwired to the router. Then open your browser and type in 192.168.0.1 on the address bar to open the interface of the router. Use "admin" for the username and password  to log in. Then click on WAN setup or Internet setup. Make sure that your set to Dynamic IP (DHCP) so that your router can obtain an IP address automatically. You can also check the LAN setup to make sure that the DHCP server is enabled. These settings are the ones that manages your DNS settings.

I am trying to get on the internet so i can accept the user agreements, but i dont get any connecton, how do i get connection?

To connect your DSi to the internet, you'll need access to a wireless network (from a wireless router, for example).

On your DSI you'll want to navigate to System Settings > Internet (it's on page 3) > Connection Settings. Select an empty connection to use (it'll say "None"). Select the "Search for an Access Point" option; it'll show you all available networks in range. Select yours and provide any security key/password if needed.

If this wasn't descriptive enough, Nintendo offers an excellent interactive guides for setting up your Nintendo DSi.

Here is the link to the Automatic Setup process.
If that doesn't work, here's the link to the Manual Setup process.

Hope that helped!

Still have troubles? Nintendo has you covered.

Once you've made a connection, just use the DSi browser and you'll be on the internet.

D-link DGL-4500 is not accessing my dsl modem

make sure the dsl modem is in bridge mode. you do this by connecting directly to the modem then accessing modem configuration page. after doing this connect the way everything was before. now go to router admin page, then setup tab at the top, then choose internet, manual setup. in the place where its says my internet connection is select PPPoE. then put in your dsl username, password and etc. save settings. this should fix the problem

Limited or no connectivity to the internet. my setup: the telephone port is approx 30m from where i need internet access. Originally I had a dlink wireless router set up but was connected via cable, now...

On which port of the D-link router did you plug the WRT160N router?

Do this setup.

Disconnect the WRT160N from D-link.

Connect a computer to port 1 of the WRT160N. Access the setup page by typing 192.168.1.1 on the address bar. you may need to type in the username and password for WRT160N. on the setup page Change the LAN IP address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1. save the settings.

Connect a cable from port 1,2,3 or 4 of the D-link router to the Internet port of the WRT160N. turn off everything then turn them on starting from cable modem>D-link >WRT160N then computer.

You should be able to access the internet.
