Camera got washed by a surf on a boat. some lights are still blinking, but the camera no longer starts up. I see no external Harddisk connection. Can I remove some screws to release the harddisk or is this a too simple approach of this problem?

Hi,
This is a common problem.Try connecting the old camcorder to your computer via firewire and turn
it on. Look in the 'My Computer' file for the camcorder as an external
storage device. If it shows up there you can simply copy the files to a
temporary directory on your computer and view them with Windows Media
Player. If the problem does not resolve, you need to send the unit to JVC repair center. Apparently, repair requires reformatting the hard drive which means
they will have to attempt recovering all the files currently on the hard
drive.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
