My soap magic dispenser only works when I turn it off then turn it back on

The rubber seal /boot can be replaced If it's really bad but you will need to clean soap dispenser pull it out all the way buy washer magic to clean rubber seal and door also buy afresh put two tables in tub run longest and hottest cycle with extra rinse once cycle finishes than take half bottle of washer magic and pour into soap dispenser run another cycle if still bad do it all again

Mine would not work with the Costco brand (Kirkland) batteries. The light indicator came on but the pump did not work. Once I replaced them with Durcell, the pump started working. I'm guessing Energizer brand would work just as good.

i would quit using powder soap and use the HE soap.I would take the soap dispenser out and clean it out and also clean out behind the dispenser.run just water thru machine or try washer magic to clean out the machine.you can find washer magic at most home depots or lowes or even a appliance parts house.

These rely on mechanical timers and springs on the soap dispenser. They get a bit gunked up after a while. Don't prewash and run the the dishwasher for a few cycles with the dispenser open (put the soap tablet in the cutlery basket). If you listen to the machine you may be able to hear the click when the dispenser should open which at least tells you that it should be working

I had the same problem with my GE Adora. The dishes were getting cloudy and the soap dispenser would not open. Turns out the hard water deposits were causing the soap dispenser to stick shut. I used as directed and now my dishes are sparkling and the soap dispenser pops right open.

This could be due to dried out soap in the works below the dispenser. Try cleaning the hole, putting plain water in the soap dispenser to clean it out further. You could just put some soap in with the water. Be sure to run lots of rinse water through afterward to clean out the heating unit.
