Most cell phones don't allow you to control the intensity of the vibration... you can only turn it on or off. However, if you get a rubber case for the phone that might help, because it will absorb some of the vibration.

Galaxy instruction manual

you can turn your volume down which will then only work the vibrate motor or in settings go to "sound" change sound mode to either mute or vibrate instead of sound. you can set vibration intensity to low for notifications. also under "ring and notifications" change your notification tone silent at the top of the list.

How can i get my samsung galaxy i5800 apollo to vibrate for text messages? I have checked the box that says vibrate, i have changed the volume on the phone so that it is on vibrate and i have also set the...

When you go to settings and set the ringtone for messages and click for vibrate while message enter ensure to hit save before closing the page. This should ensure the phone vibrates when message enters the phone. Although the only other reason why it won't vibrate is if the ******** is bad but if the phone vibrates when call comes in then this is not the problem just save the settings after it has been set.
Hope this solution has been helpful?
