Zebra TLP 2844 printing to top of label

I have a Zebra TLP 2844 that's printing to the top of the label or stops printing with a red light. I have recalibrated and the print starts near the middle of label then moves towards to the top on the next couple of labels then quits. I am using poly pro 3000 t lables. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: Zebra TLP 2844-Z Test page print within Win XP

This printer requires special software to print labels with. It uses a unique PCL language to work with. Thats why when you use these printers with Fedex or UPS software, it typically downloads forms first before working.

Zebra used to see a label designer program to work with it. You might want to check with them to see if they still carry it.

Hi Burgymon,

The font that is used under the barcode will use the last font properties described prior to the barcode in the output. You may want to suppress the human readable option and create a separate text field to display the text version of the barcode contents.

just switch off the printer ,and then hold the green button power on the printer now and wait upto 4 bliknks of green led then remove the fingers.now printer will calibrate the label..

if still the problem exist .check the notch in the ribbon core.an adjust the spring tenson of rippon supply and take of roolers in printer

This is an easy printer to fix since there is only one control button. Turn the printer off. Hold the green feed key down while turning the printer on; once the red light begins flashing, let go of the feed button. This will do three things: the printer will calibrate with the installed media, it will print a configuration label and the printer will go into dump mode. Press the feed key again. One more label will come out with with the words "Out of Dump" printed at the top. If the printer still fails to print, remove the ribbon and try the same procedure with direct thermal labels (UPS or FedEx). From there, consult the manual for more troubleshooting tips.

TLP 2844 GAP sensor problem (I guess)

I had the same problem. I found out later there was a small piece of label sticking against the sensor, thus blocking the sensor from sensing the end of the label. As soon as I removed the label (open the cover, it is on the top part) it immediately started to work as usual. Hope this helps.

Solid red light. This indicates the printer is in an error state and will not print until the error is cleared. Check to make sure the printer is not out of labels or out of ribbon if it is a TLP model.
A solid red light will occur if

the printer is out of labels
the printer is out of ribbon ( TLP models only )
the printhead is open, not latched down all the way. Press down on the top cover of the printer to see if the error light clears and goes to green.
the ribbon spool is slipping on the ribbon spool holder on TLP models:

Hi, My printer model is TLP 2844.i m facing the problem in printing. The printer is hang after one or two lines printing and red LED are ON and I press Green button repeat same as before. Please solve my...

Zebra Printer TLP 2844-Z - Will not print from application - prints SM 10 53 4D

Hold the feed button while turning on the printer. After a config label prints, turn the printer off and then on again, and try printing again.

Also, make sure the lid is closed far enough to engage the lid sensor. If the red light comes on again, press down a bit on the lid, hit the feed button and try to print again.

Zebra tlp 2844 trouble

Verify that the ribbon fits into position, back and forth. You can also calibrate the label by pressing the button while powering up the printer and release the button.

Problem printing on Glossy Label [butterfly label] using Zebra TLP 2844 EPL

You must make sure that the ribbon is compatible with the label you are attempting to print on. It must be a permanent resin. We use the AXR7+ material. Try to avoid using such a high printer head temperature as this will reduce the life of the head.
