Yamaha 1987 FZX 750 fuel pump problem. I have new fuel pump and fuel pump relay but the pump is still not working. The pump worked for a short while but then it stopped before even all carburators were filled with gas. How is the pump working from where comes the signal to work what could be the problem....

Most pumps like this work on pressure drop. When the floats open the pump loses resistance pressure and resumes pumping until it feels pressure again.

You do not need to regulate the fuel, the carbs do that, the pump just supplies fuel to them. There is no fuel regulator.
