MacBook Air audio driver - Apple MacBook Air

I'm not clear what "30 pin" refers to. It sounds irrelevant to your question or am I missing something?

Try this:
Go to System Preferences, click on Sound. Make sure you are on the Output tab. Select your device.

Sounds like you need a new keyboard. You can get one from apple or a third party vendor. One thing you might try is re-installing the drivers for the keyboard.

Go in to the "applications>utilities" folder. Run the "Audio/MIDI Setup" program. Insure the audio out is actually going to the audio out.

Mine wouldn't either. Now I have paired it with the Bluetooth and it installed something (drivers?), and now it works. So, now how do I know if it is always connecting Bluetooth or wired? I connected the wire and it is still working, so now how do know if I really need the wire or not???

If you have a first generation Macbook Air, there is no line-in nor microphone jack on this model of Macbook Air. On the latest Macbook Air models, you can use the Apple earbuds that have a build-in mic in them for a mic; otherwise, you'll have to use some kinds of USB audio adapter.

Usually a problem with your audio jack. The jack detects an optical plug and switches to optical audio. Clean it with a compressed air can. Otherwise The apple store will probably help you. If not there are third party places that will find out what's wrong. If you want to do it yourself, the good news is, it'snot too hard to open it. This is a known issue with some of the Macbook Airs - you should bring the machine to an Apple store, or open a case at apple.com
They may be able to repair/replace at no cost, depending on how old the machine is.

check your audio driver, if it is ok, check your sound options if it is muted, volume control..all are fine..then could be your speakers..if you use head phone to check it, and it does not work at all, then your audio driver, reinstall it

why use windows7? you paid for your macosx that comes with your macbook and mind you that macosx is a very powerful operating system and way better than windows. i suggest you use the macosx. you'd be amazed on how easy it is to use. i myself am a mac user and i assure you you'll never have to worry with viruses again. anyway, if you insist to use the windows7 i think the problem there is the driver for your audio. you might need the bootcamp driver on the cd that came with your macbook. try installing the audio driver and i am almost certain this will work. the red light shining in it is the laser used with fiber optic cables. your macbook is equipped with an optical audio port if you wanted a digital output going to your sound system (if it supports optical inputs).

Sounds like either your sound card has died, or Mac OS X cannot find it. I suggest taking it to the Genius Bar at your local Apple Retail Store, or try reinstalling Mac OS X with the DVD's that came with your MacBook Air.
