Sometimes DVD player drawers get stuck closed because the disc inside isn't seated properly. At other times the player may have another problem. The first step in discovering if it is the disc or another issue is to remove the disc. Most DVD players have a secret eject button. It allows you to open the drawer when a disc gets stuck and cannot be ejected normally.
For this you'll need a standard size paperclip.
Unfold the paperclip and make it as straight as possible.
Look closely at your DVD player . Push the tip the paper clip into the small hole on the tray cover on the front of the Toshiba. The hole is on the right side of the cover.
Press inward gently with the paperclip until you feel a slight resistance, then continue pushing to engage the internal eject button. The tray should pop open partway.
Gently pull the drawer until it's fully retracted. Be careful not to pull too far.
Remove your disc from the drive.
Before you reinsert another disc, use the remote and/or buttons on the player to close the door, and reopen it. You can also press carefully with your fingers. If you cannot open/close the drawer normally at this point, do not put in a new disc until you have repaired the problem.

under the Dvd drawer tray towards the right hand side where you have the open close button just next to it you will see a small pin hole. you can insert a safety pin in the pin hole and push it so that you can open the DVD drawer. Good Luck
REGION UNLOCK CODE When i
bought this it said multi-region but its not. To unlock it to play
all regions turn on the dvd player open the disc tray and then enter
98790. It will now change to region 0 making it able to watch all
regions.
Hope that helps.
Sounds as if you may have a disk in there that's lodged between the tray and the inner mechnism. Use the release pinhole, and a small screwdriver or butter knife to pry open the tray, gently. You'll feel it releasing when you insert a straightened paperclip or other small object.
I used the settings recommended Power on, Open the drawer, key in 9879 slowly, pause for a 3 second delay then type 0, all via the remote and a message appeared on the screen saying Region Code now set to 0. I can now play Region 2 and region 1 DVD. Well done and thanks for all the hard work. God bless. Be encouraged. The truth is out there!
HI, you have two issue here. the load motor is malfunctioning. this is causing the door open and close feature to lock up. this motor is connected to the gear assembly. it should be replaced soon. the second issue is the optical lens assembly. this len assembly has failed. the laser is burned ut. this is causing the no play issue.
In conclusion, i recommendreplacing the optical len assembly and the load motor as well. this will fix this issue. try not to force the door open often, this Will damage the loading dock gears.

Manually open the tray. It's possible that you have a dvd stuck in the drawer because it wasn't fully seated. Look at at the front of the drive and you will see a tiny hole. Take a paper clip or safety pin, stick it in the hole and push. You will see that the drawer will pop out and you can retrieve your stuck dvd. Thanks for using fixya.com
