No cd burner connected to toshiba satellite l355d-s7825

In my limited experience cd burning software isn't very stable and causes software conflicts with Windows; uninstalling doesn't help very much because burning software tends to displace some Windows components that sort of gets lost in the process. If you really know what you are doing it might be possible to repair Windows but at my level I find formatting and reloading everything is the best option. I find Nero to be the greatest offender. Windows Media Player should be able to burn a cd; it might be long-winded but it is fairly reliable...

Make sure the players can play the format you are using to burn. My surround sound system will play most audio but my car system will only play an origional cd format (AU) not mp3 or wav for example. Also some systems will not play cd-rw but will play cd-r and some won't play anything but origional cd's.

Toshiba sd-r2312 driver corrupted .

There is no such thing as a specific driver for cd/dvd readers/burners.
The operating system itself has suitable drivers for those devices.

However, it can be that the driver for the IDE/ATAPI-controllers is malfunctioning.
If you have chipset drivers for the mainboard, reinstall them. Otherwise remove in
the Device Manager the driver of the used IDE/ATAPI-controller and let the Device
Manager search for the Microsoft Windows drivers and install them.

380381-26-2A030C00 I get this error

Hello,
Trying other burning software is a good Idea, windows itself has native cd burning support, through media player for example. It won't be a codec issue unless you are converting from an MP3 or similar.

Try burn with deep burning

Download it from following bellow link

http://www.deepburner.com/?r=products&pr=deepburner

I personally don't like codec packs, they fill your system with codecs you never use and aren't as up to date as the individual codecs.

I always install Koepis's latest Xvid Codec and AC3 filter and that's it unless something fails to play, then I find the relevant codec.

The question regarding DMA is also worth following up, from device manager you need to check the properties of the IDE controller the drive is connected to - can take a bit of trial and error to find the right one. It should be set to "DMA if available" and the current transfer mode should be something like "DMA mode 2" ( depending on the drive ) If it is in PIO mode that will cause issues.

Hope this helps.

If you are helped you can rate on the 4 thumbs and leave a short comment, because,
this is the free side and I can get the chance, to help people like you .
Thanks for using fixya .

I have a toshiba laptop my cd dvd burner gets

Hello Gary, hi, that error means failure of the burner software ROM (corrupted), you have to return the laptop back to the manufacturer for reprogramming, you can also get a surplus DVD drive. Or buy a USB external DVD drive, this is a better alternative.

My toshiba u 400 12p's

Looks like this is a pure hardware error and the Rom needs a service. Still you may try to reinstall the driver and the burning software. This could give results if you are lucky enough not to have a hardware issue.

Good Luck.
