You can check owners manual for (fuses) for window motor. If it checks out and you can hear the motor working you have a broken window guide (moves widow up and down).....If the fuses are good and the SWITCH is good it is most likely the motor..Did you get the switch wet ?
Just replaced a motor on one this week--same symptoms. It would go about an inch and then just click a time or 2. The motor coil shorts out and then the shortened coil gets too hot to do anything. Was the extra motor you hooked up known to be good? Does it turn well when you hook it straight to the battery? I bet it don't. You have to drill out the rivets to change the motor. Then there may be some screws holding it on to the regulator too. I had to take the glass off of the 02 sunfire I just fixed to get to the screws inside the door. Lemme know if you need more help. We'll fool your wife and maybe impress her too.
your window motor on the driverside may be bad. or the switch that cotrols it may have a bad connection. does it hum or anything when you try to roll it down? even a bad widow motor will sometimes hum like it's trying to work. is it frozen on the outside of the window? if so you can unthaw it with de icer. if fuses are good, it has to be bad switch,or bad window motor. thank you for choosing fixya.com
check the wiring harness between the door and the cab of the truck, you may have a broken or bad wire in the harness between the two that makes contact when the doors are shut.hope this helps, good luck.
