The power supply board is at fault. You have a shorted diode. Location of this diode is D639. Replace it with an NTE 5087A. The board you will fix, has the power AC cord attached to it! Thanks for asking, Matt of Martins TV.

SOURCE: WHERE To BUY power boards for emerson 32" FS TV

I had the same problem. Mine gave out in 4 months. Those boards are hard to find right now. Google the the board# BA71FOFO1042 and someone like (buyjimmy.com) I think will sell TV parts. If not, you can fix the board itself like I did. Mine was a bad inverter transformer. If you need the parts# for anything let me know, I have the Service Manual for the TV. Good Luck

SOURCE: emerson lc320em82s need help checking inverters

OK,
1. On the power inverter board unplug all 6 wires that go to the LCD screen.
2. Test each of those ports for resistance.( the one without the resistance is the bad one.)
3. Or, test each port for Voltage output ( this will happen very briefly since the TV will turn itself off automatically).( The one without voltage will be the bad one).

SOURCE: I have an emerson flat screen that will not turn on ? The red stand by light comes on, but when you hit the power button the green light comes on then shuts off quickly and the TV will not come on?? A

Try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 mins so the TV can reset itself.
If that doesn't work, most cases with the Emerson TV, the Inverter Transformer goes bad on the backlight Inverter Board. It's what powers the screen for your TV. If it can't power up the screen, it automatically shuts off. Basically, they call this "Protection Mode" with this happens.

You can get a replacement backlight inverter board at this web site link:
http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=ewl3706+inverter&p=1&stock=all

Just make sure the board number matches your board.

If it fixes the problem and you decide to throw your old board in the trash, I would like to keep the damaged board if possible. I want to do some research on the board to find out what really causes the transformers to go bad. Here's my e-mail [email protected]

SOURCE: my flat screen tv does not have a picture or

I've had the same problem with a 32" model LC320EM82S. All the Emerson TV ( no matter what size ) are having the same issue.
I'm sure with your TV, the green light is blinking before the TV automatically turns OFF. Basically, the TV is trying to power up the screen and has failed. Protection mode turns the TV OFF to prevent other parts from being damaged inside.
My solution for fixing my TV was replacing one bad inverter transformer of six on the Backlight Inverter/Power Board. Here is what my board looks like: 767c946.jpg
You can see the six inverter transformer on the bottom of the board. It's what supplies power to the screen. Your board may look similar. You can sometimes find a whole replacement board over the internet for a good price. Shopjimmy.com is a good place to start. Just start searching by your TV model number.
If you have some electronic experience, you can repair the board itself by finding a Service Manual over the internet for less than $20. It will have all the part numbers, schematics, and diagrams you need. I would investigate the inverter transformer for your problem.
I hope I helped you out with your problem.

I have a Emerson 50 that has no picture but has sound , what could be wrong?

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main digital board./

Why wont my emerson tv turn on?

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

32" emerson tv

I would suspect the power supply first Most likely bad capacitors. The main board would be suspect next as the power on command comes from the main board which switches on the run supplies.
