Problem with map. You can't use this map on this.i'M AN EXPERT W/ TT'S.But sometimes i have problems like this one.I had two maps grecce and usa and canada i deleted grecce and it tells me that Problem with map. I can't use this map on this DEVICE TOMTOM ONE

It sounds like you are trying to use cracked maps and have not patched the .dll file for your TomTom in TomTom Home. Use yDGpatch to patch the .dlls in TomTom Home

TomTom stuck on homescreen
Connect TT to PC, open it by Explorer, create a new map, copy all data from TT to the new map, format the device, disconnect it from PC. Download and install TomTom Home program, install it, connect TT thru the program, make all installations that the program requires, close TTHome, open the device thru explorer, copy from the saved files the map containing the maps and the Voices map. Thos will take around 30 minutes. Then disconnect the TT, Power on, wait 5 minutes, power off and power on again. That's it.

I purchased a new tomtom one us cananda version and map is out of
You have 30 days from the time of purchase to get the newest map guaranty from tt. You will have to call tt to get it. It will probably help if you register your tt before you do this.

When I install my 2g sd card in my TT it just comes up with a screen that shows the TT unit with the sd card being removed and then it shows the sd card beside the unit with a red X over the card. I dont...
dude check it the tomtom needs an application, map, and at least one voice to work so before u start u need to formatt ur sd card to fatt 32 once u do that go to tomtom home and just update ur device an application and a ton of voices will come up grab the application and ONE voice now for the bad news when it comes to the map its a pain because they are kinda strict to be honest call tomtom support for help with the map they will walk u thru takin the map off the original sd card puttin it on the desktop then movin it to ur new sd card however sometimes there is issues wit the certifacation file this again is wher e u need tech support... use to wrk for tomtom....

Tomtom Go 710 - help
The answer is Yes. I would make sure to have a backup on your PC. Uninstall TT home make sure you delet all of it. Reformat your card then install TT home. Connect your tt and let TT home reinstall your navcore. You may need to reconnect your tt a couple of times to get it updated to the newest navcore for your device. I believe it is 7.903. If you want to keep the older navcore just don't load the new one. Then install your maps as you normally would. I have just used this method to get the latest navcore for six 710's.

TomTom go 720
If you have two devices you must have two email address. One for each device. This is the way tt home works. Another way to get around it is to open tt home preferances and in general preferances make sure remember my password is not checked. Sometimes a popup will want you to log in just click not this time at the bottom left cornor and then tt home will go on and update your device without loging in.

If you havent done it yet, make an account for free here:

Connect unit to computer, log in with same info from account creation. Then choose to upgrade/buy map from within TT Home software...

TT Home does not recognise connection
You definitely need software and maps on an SD card. The TOMTOM will not work without a card inserted. The card will contain MAPS , Map authorisation codes ( to show they are genuine TOMTOM maps bought and paid for ) , POI ( points of interest ), GPS fix data , voices ( for spoken navigation ) etc etc etc. ....................
PLEASE NOTE , TRYING A CARD FROM ANOTHER TOMTOM is very unlikely to work. Each card has an authorisation code that is generated via an algorithm inside each TOMTOM and is device specific.
However , trying a card from another tomtom might produce a diferrent result but still not work , at least this might prove that the tomtom is working OK before you rush out and buy a tomtom card.
