My Toshiba satellite c855-s5214 does not start when i press the start bottom but starts automatically when u leave it for some time.what could be the problem?

You have probably disabled the power button as a power button. Check the hardware setup.

try taking the hard drive out then switch it on without it then switch it back off, put the hard drive back in then it should work, if not try f8 then safe mode and do a system restore

I had the same thing. I was passed down this laptop to checkout for a friend. After overviewing the system turns out the processer board got loose. Pushed it back in and she fired up..

Issue was green power led then 2 short orange flashes that repeated untill I discoved the issue.

try to remove the media player form the.. system, sturt up..

Go to start, run, type msconfig then enter, then remove sturt up then ok
