Please provide more information.
To what would you like to upgrade it?

Since OSX Mavericks was just announced, I'm going to assume that's what you're wanting to upgrade to.

Not all Macs can run Mavericks.

Mavericks Capable Macs

Mavericks, like its predecessor Mountain Lion, requires one of the following Macs with at least 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of available hard drive space:
  • iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
  • MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
  • MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
  • MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
  • Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
  • Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
  • Xserve (Early 2009)

If your Mac isn't one of the ones listed above, you won't be able to upgrade.

If you have an iMac, MacBook, MacBook Pro, or Mac mini model that was originally released in Early/Mid 2006, the latest version of Mac OS X your system supports is Snow Leopard.

What is the main benefit for upgrading?

with operating systems , it is only necessary to upgrade if you receive a notice that the current os( operating system) is no longer being supported ( no upgrades to eliminate problems )
an example here is the win 10 upgrade from a previous win 7 , vista etc
this up grade has conflicts with the installed os so it is better to get the win 10 program and install it in full rather than upgrade to win 10
Using mac os and you are happy and confident in the use of that version and there is no notice that that version will no longer be supported, then stay with what you know and is trouble free
however if you want more from the mac os consider buying the program and installing it complete rather than an up grade on the current base os
for advice on this sort of problem , go google and find forums on the subject and then make your decision or talk with a computer repair guy to get good information

How to install xp in hp

Be aware if you install an operating system to a certain brand computer or laptop, you must have the drivers for that hardware.
If the factory never developed drivers for the OS version, you want to put in the computer, you can run in lots of trouble. Most of the time you can upgrade the OS. Downgrade is virtual impossible. No hardware firm, who ever sold a computer with a certain OS, will develop drivers for older operating systems.

I have HP 7700 system, with Vista Operating System. It had issue which resulted to me formating it. Now I cant activate it even online. I keep reinstalling the Vista OS every 30 days. Pls how can I freeze...

Vista sucks anyway, and anything that can run Vista should be able to run Windows 7. This is a blessing in disguise. Buy Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade and install it.You legally qualify for the upgrade version if your computer came with Vista. You can use instructions here to make the upgrade version work on a clean disk:http://windowssecrets.com/top-story/clean-install-windows-7-from-the-upgrade-disc/

How to change os

Hi

To change OS - Operating system, the easiest way if by upgrading your operating system from Windows XP to Vista or Windows 7 or others.

Here how it works. Open your computer and let it run your windows operating system until it finished loading the windows display. After, put the OS installer on your CDROM to upgrade it either to Vista or Windows 7 and it will run the upgrade process. Follow the procedure and it is easy to follow. It will reboot for 3 times and finish itself. And its done.

I hope it helps you.

Audio driver problem after upgrading OS from Windows 98 to xp

You could also try:

Do you have Service Pak 2 installed, it has a lot of updated drivers.

Remove all audio devices in the control panel > System > Hardware tab > Device Manager. Then reboot and let XP redetect the audio hardware.

Another idea is to run Windows Update and see if there's an update to the driver.

Hope that helps...

Upgrade the software and operating system

Yes, the OS is stored into a flash memory partition and can be changed, but this is not currently available to customers. NEC will provide an OS upgrade service at a future time.
