No sound

  1. Check if the TV and Amplifier (if connected) is turned on and set correctly.
  2. Check if the TV, DVD player and Amplifier are connected properly.
  3. Make sure the TV, DVD player and Amplifier volume are not set to Mute.
  4. There will be no sound output during Reverse Play / Pause / Step / Slow / Search.
  5. If the DTS soundtrack is enabled in the DVD Disc Menu, but you are using Stereo Analog audio, the sound will not work. Try switching the soundtrack to Dolby 5.1 or PCM mode in the Disc Menu.

Is there sound using the set top box? Try a different remote if possible. Last but not least, Call Tech Support.

Testimonial: "I tried a different remote.....same problem. I'll call tech support tomorrow. Thanks anyway"

If your remote is working well before, please check the battery of remote for wear down first. Check also whether is requires the code. You can check the here : www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/devices-tv.shtml

I have a Funai 32" TV model 23PFL4764/F7A that has no sound. I'm on DISH network???

Check for a MUTE button on both the television and the Dish Remote.

Or Disconnect both the television and the Dish Decoder for 15 minutes to reset.

I have an ol RCA tv, new dish remote everything works but the mute button...i can raise and lower volume, turn off and on but not mute

Hi there Stacey, my name is Kimberly and I form part of the Social Media Department with DISH. We do not promise that our remote will control all the functions of you TV. The codes used to program your DISH remote to the TV may be limited to some functions. You can try addressing your remote to the TV using different codes. I have listed the steps below to assist with programming the remote to your TV. If you have any other questions, let me know at [email protected]!

You can lookup the different codes here: http://www.mydish.com/support/apps/remotecodes.aspx?WT.svl=leftnav

1.) Press and hold the clear TV button until all mode lights light up.
2.) Release and TV light will be blinking.
3.) Enter code and press #. The TV button should flash 3 times.
4.) Try functions (Volume, Power, etc..) and see if it is working.
5.) If no function, repeat steps 1-4 with another code.

No sound on movie trailers I have sound on Facebook but not on Dish Network trailers

It sounds like you have the mute button checked on the Dish Network Trailers. Check by clicking the mute button of one of them. Does this help?

Muted my sharp le 810 and now i can't retrieve the sound

If you push the volume button on set does it show on screen?

My guess would be the sound may be turned down on the box or tv or maybe in the TV menu the speakers may be turned off.

Does not sound (pardon the pun) like a circuit repair but like an error.

Check all audio settings or options first in the set and then the box.

We have a VIP 722 and the second channel is now without sound. We have sound on channel 1 but not 2. Any ideas?

Step 1: Check that TV or Stereo is not muted

Make sure that your TV or Stereo has not beed muted and that the volume is turned up loud enough to hear.

Step 2: Reset Receiver

If the issue is only on ONE receiver, unplug the DISH receiver for 10 seconds and plug back in.

Please note: It may take up to 5 minutes for the reset process to be completed.

Step 3: Check Receiver-to-TV Configuration

Check that the wiring between your DISH receiver and your TV is configured properly.

Step 4: Secure Receiver-to-TV Connections

Check that the connections between your DISH receiver, your TV, and any component(s) (VCR, DVD Player, etc.) in between are secure.

No sound

On your remote you should have a mute button. Or some will cancel mute when you press volume up or down. Make sure you are using the TV remote and not the cable or dish remote.
