Canon ZR100 Mini DV Digital Camcorder Problem

Why i opent my camcorder to put the tape in it works well. then when i put it in, its says remove the cassete

  • Anonymous Dec 17, 2007

I have a Canon ZR 10 And it does say remove cassette often and recently it eat the tape and destroyed our recordings.

Does this have something to do was the round small battery in the front part of the camcorder?

Is this a consumer complaint I feel uncomfortable because we have alot of Cassettes recorded and we are afraid to play them because it might chew them up.

There is a mini cassette player that can play the cassetes ????

Need Help!!!! What am I going to do ???

Every time i put a tape in to play or record, it keeps ejecting it why??

Please be more specific. When you insert tape, the tape housing extract to its body, or it just stays still and eject your tape.

Cannon zr100 digital video camera tape compartment will not retract and tells you to remove tape,, also tried other tapes.. What could be my problem?

This is caused by problems with the mechanism. There should be an indicator on the LCD screen when this happens. If the indicator shows a teardrop, it means the unit thinks it has moisture (dew sensor).
The most likely fault is a defective capstan motor, the motor that moves the tape through the camera. Time for a Canon service center.

After tape is inserted tap on elevator mechanism with your knuckle. You will hear elevator operate. Do it more than once if neccessary. It worked for me!

Minitape will not eject

On another forum here, the suggestion was that you wrap on the screen side of the camera with your knuckles. This method absolutely has proven to work on three ZR100's I have for the school I work at.

Try it yourself and see.

Why wont my camcorder allow my tape to go in

I have the same problem. Let me guess... you put the tape in, it makes a few loud annoying beeps, then ejets the tape. I replaced the battery and it worked fine for a few days, then went back to its old tricks.

Camcorder keeps spitting the tape out when I put one in

I have one doing the same thing. I called Cannon and the told me I would have to send it in for service. Now after reading that about 10 other folks having the same issue, I think Cannon has some issue with the ZR100. Of course mine is out of warranty. Everyone should call Cannon and complain.
