I HAVE A PENTAX KR THAT'S CURRENTLY IN FOR REPAIR AT CHANDLER, AZ. THE PART THAT THEY ARE REPLACING IS THE DIAPHRAGM CONTROL BLOCK. IS THIS A COMMON PROBLEM IN THE PENTAX KR?

Newer lenses tend to be sharper and lighter than older lenses, and with better optical characteristics. Some digital-only lenses are also designed for the smaller sensors of some digital cameras, allowing for further reductions in size and weight. In general, lenses designed for film cameras will work with digital cameras.

If you already have Pentax-mount lenses, by all means continuing using them if you're satisfied with the results.

The chinese quads are very difficult to find info on. I would contact Toy Junkies in Chandler / Gilbert or San Tan Motorsports in QC. They are both pretty good with chinese quads. There is also Kabra offroad in Tempe but I have no experiences with them.

Sorry, I haven't addressed the station memory problem further since replacing the AC switch by-pass capacitor, which same didn't solve the problem. I'm using the receiver only as an amplifier for a Roku SoundBridge, so the station memory isn't a problem at present. When we return to AZ, I may look at it again.
