It means that the Chasis or the cabinet which holds the motherboard, CPU, GPU, etc. is open. It's a security feature offered by some OEMs where a connector found on a motherboard can detect if the chassis component has been removed or replaced. Some OEMs also offer onboard speaker or PC chassis speaker which goes off in situations like these.
This is a hardware problem, and in most of the situations, you need to put the jumper back on the motherboard with the pin labeled chassis signal and ground. Sometimes OEM offers a simple switch which is automatically armed when you close the chassis properly. So check if that's the problem you are facing.

SOURCE: Error Boot "Chasis Intruded fatal Error System Halted"

Well it seems like that the cmos battery is down. You need to do the following

Change the CMOS battery,
Enter into bios and change the date and time properly,
Save and exit bios.

Now you should be able start your computer in windows.

SOURCE: Chassis Intruded, Fatal Error.....System Halted

I'm not familiar with that particulat model, but I'd guess the motherboard has a chassis switch connector, and senses the chassis be open. Could be because: - chassis open (close it), - switch defect (as a workaround, you could short-circuit it, or just unplug it - whichever solution works for you). As another workaround, you can probably disable this switch in BIOS.

SOURCE: Chassis Intruded, Fatal Error...System Halted

you need to go into the bios of your pc.....usually pressing the delete key when you see the first logo screen after booting up....look for a section that relates to errors and what the bios is supposed to do when it encounters an error.
i.e if you see a line in the bios that says "halt on all errors" disable it and when you next boot up the bios will not stall.

SOURCE: how to fix chassis intruded ..fatal error..system

It is unlikely that your CPU is damaged

You need to enter the BIOS and turn off chassis intrusion.

It is an option in the bios that is only useful if you have the switch on the computer case that supports it otherwise it will give you the error you see if enabled

Chassis intruder, fatal error system halt on asus p5pe-vm.how can i fix it

Hello, you can download a manual here:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5PEVM/#download

Please select your windows version.
Select manual and click on global for download.
Unzip the file before installation.

And remove the cable on the mainboard for the contact on the chassis.
When that is done enter the bios and set the setting for the chassis intruder to off
Read about that in the manual.
The chassis intruder is used by admins to see if the case have been opened
when the case is opened the bios will block the system from booting until the setting in the bios
is set back to normal.

(1)cpu fan error (2)chassis intruded (3)fatal error.....system halted

The reason for this error is Overheat! Please replace the CPU Fan with a new one and add additional Fan for the CPU Cabinet in order to cool the CPU. Then, reset the BIOS to default value by pressing the F2 Key or Delete Key at the Startup and select Load Optmized Defaults or Load Fail Safe Defaults option. This should resolve the issue.

Chassis intruded... fatal error.. system halt..

If your case is not setup for chassis intrusion, the motherboard has dropped a jumper.
The location is by the last PCI slot between the CD audio connector and the USB bus plug. (it is right next to the CLRTC jumpers)

Good luck
