I have a Roper washer model#RTW4640YQ1 Serial#C32720151 Just bought it in August 30,2013. When i select the warm wash temp. the washer fills up only cold water. I do no see the hot water inlet hose (jump) when it is to mix with the cold water to make warm water wash. What can be wrong? It is just brand new. I had a service man come to my home. He said that the Roper only uses a spritz of hot water only once to make warm water wash. Well I stood there and watched the tub fill up. The water was icy cold. What is going on?

Most washers have a small screen at the water inlet valve. They can be accessed simply by revoving the hose from the back side of the washer, using a small screw driver you can carefully remove the screens and clean them out under a faucet. That may be all that is wrong.

SOURCE: Cold water filling of tub is extremely slow. No kinks

turn cold water off and remove hose from washer, next remove the screen from the water inlet and clean it and place it back in the valve, place hose back on the inlet, turn cold water back on and test cold setting, you should have good flow.

The problem is one of two parts. One is your water temperature switch or your hot water solinoid. To get to the back you must remove the hex screws on the back and then the panel is removeable.

SOURCE: will not work with cold water only warm

Hi,
First check the screens at the cold inlet and make sure they are not plugged. If everything is okay there then it is the solenoid valve on the cold side that is bad... you need to replace the whole unit vlave body, both hot and cold as they come as one unit.

SOURCE: cold water starts and stops during fill and rinse cycle

This problem is commonly caused by a water inlet valve (also known as a mixing valve) that has a defective cold water solenoid. If you live in an area that has hard water, or if you use well water, sediment, rust or calcified deposits can accumulate in the inlet valve and cause it not to close properly. Usually when they start leaking, or not functioning at all, you need to replace them. The following link explains how to access and replace the valve:

If the model number is correct, the part number for a replacement valve is 285805. Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between sites, so shop and compare. The first three sites listed also have helpful exploded view parts illustrations to assist you with locating and properly identifying the parts you may need.

Washer filling problem

Check to hose to the water level control. It goes from the outside of the tub up to the control which is located in the same area as the timer. It's usually round with the end of that tube and at least 2 wires connected to it. Disconnect the hose and blow air through it. Reconnect and try again. Still no fill, try filling with that tube disconnected. Watch it the entire time as with the tube off the water should not stop. If it fills all the way with the tube off the water control unit has a problem.

Mo del RAB 1121EW1 serial number CG 402 1770

This is a direct drive washer so there is no belt. The drive coupler that connects the motor to the tub may need to be replaced.
