Most washers have a small screen at the water inlet valve. They can be accessed simply by revoving the hose from the back side of the washer, using a small screw driver you can carefully remove the screens and clean them out under a faucet. That may be all that is wrong.

turn cold water off and remove hose from washer, next remove the screen from the water inlet and clean it and place it back in the valve, place hose back on the inlet, turn cold water back on and test cold setting, you should have good flow.

The problem is one of two parts. One is your water temperature switch or your hot water solinoid. To get to the back you must remove the hex screws on the back and then the panel is removeable.

Hi,
First check the screens at the cold inlet and make sure they are not plugged. If everything is okay there then it is the solenoid valve on the cold side that is bad... you need to replace the whole unit vlave body, both hot and cold as they come as one unit.

This problem is commonly caused by a water inlet valve (also known as a mixing valve) that has a defective cold water solenoid. If you live in an area that has hard water, or if you use well water, sediment, rust or calcified deposits can accumulate in the inlet valve and cause it not to close properly. Usually when they start leaking, or not functioning at all, you need to replace them. The following link explains how to access and replace the valve:

If the model number is correct, the part number for a replacement valve is 285805.
