    I have this same problem and also if the message does not appear, the color goes away totally in about 1-2 hours of watching.  Shut down for about 15 minutes and color returns.

You must have a wd series mitsubishi..the lamp tempurature sensor has a manufacturing problem..mitsubishi has an updated one to take care of the problem..the sensor itself is not bad it is the way the wires are crimped in the plug,,the new one is soldered..the part number is 299P313010A,

Have you had your TV serviced at all? If not you will most likely need either the temp sensor on the lamp changed or the interconnect for the temp sensor removed and hardwired to the plug. Any Service Center that is authorized should know about this problem.

If that doesn?t not correct the problem I would contact Mitsubishi and request a warranty extension if it is out of warranty.

Keeps shutting down

Does the Blue screen appear before it shuts down? If so, what info does it give? What programs are you running, games/internet surfing, when it shuts down? How long has it been since you have cleaned it(compressed air)? Are you blocking the air vents, either on the back, sides or bottom of the computer?

The lamp needs to be replaced. It's on the back and easy to do. I replaced mine about 3 months ago and it was about $182.00. Hope this works, I know it's hard to fork out that kind of money at this time but once you do the TV will be as good as new. Take care

TV shuts down due to air flow being blocked

They had some stupid problems with these sets---If you know how to remove the lamp---it is customer replaceable--take it out and examine it. Shut set off first and wait a few minutes for the lamp fan to turn off. Unplug set and locate and remove lamp. Some of these sets had a lamp (it is in a cartridge like a box) that they covered openings on the housing with a screen like material (like window screen). One side of the lamp has a fairly small narrow strip of this and it blocks up with dust from the fan which is trying to keep it cool---if the screen is blocked up you will see it; Do not touch the face of the lamp when you handle it--if you find yours has a screen like material--clean it off with a brush and put it back--the later replacement version of this lamp has a screen that is coarse and does not block up with dust---on a couple of these I removed the blocked up screen material until I could get the newer lamp so the customer could continue to use it--if cleaning the dirt off works you may have to do it from time to time--depends on environment--the fan tends to pull dust and such out of the air and right into the lamp---

Error / problem message

these are on mitsubishi's recall list you need to get in touch with mitsubishi and have them find a authorized servicer in your area to come put a thermal sensor in your set.

Air flow blocked message appears when turning on

Replacing the thermal sensor is the cure for this. If you call Mitsubishi at 1-800-332-2119, press 5 for Customer Service. Explain the problem and they will probably approve a extended warranty claim and get the repair done for free through a Mitsubishi Auth. Repair Facility. They will also help get you in touch with one near you. Do not delay in acting on this. I do not know how long the extended warranty claims for this problem will last.
Hope this helps,

Good Day, drdeath57;
Make sure your air vents are clean but more than likely you should suspect the TV's Lamp Thermal Sensor
