Black band on left side of screen

Hello, it sounds like the "light engine" has gone bad. It's an expensive repair and you might consider replacing it rather than repairing it. Pictures of the problem would help to confirm my diagnosis.....tks

HellloWill you please send me some more details about the fault? The description you have given here is very short to understand. Do the standbylight at the front of your TV lights up? Do you hear a small 'click' sound soon after you switched the tV's power On etc: Give me more details. OK.

The lamp has just been replaced and now the tv

Did you press the System Reset button with a ball point pin on the front of the set? You might have a ballast going bad if it has never been replaced. But first, the reset button then you may have a thermal switch which is located just above the lamp housing. I test the thermal switches by unhooking (while set is unplugged) one of the wires and then putting an alligator clip jumper between the two wires to see if it last longer than the 30 minutes you mentioned. Lastly, there must not be any dust in and around the fan which can cause overheating. Sounds like you have an overheating problem initially. The thermal switch cuts the set off if there is overheating. And also if the switch is faulty it will cut off the set. Also look in the menu for a temperature setting if this model has a setting such as this.

My model no. WD73727 blew the color engine twice

It's becoming more common. Mits had problems with the color wheel in this model. They extended coverage for these problems 2 additional years. If you need more help call the consumer relations dept. at 800-332-2119.

Where can I buy and how much is a light engine for

Mitsubishi parts can be purchased at authorized service centers for around $450. Other distributors may carry Mits but the price will be higher. Part number is 938P019010. We are also a Mits authorized center. Thx

Bad color flickering

You have one of two problems.
1. If this happens after the television is on for awhile, then it means the tv is overheating. You must clean the color wheel itself and a small square piece of glass that sits between the lamp and the color wheel.
2. If this happens as soon as the television is turned on then one/all of the following has gone bad: color wheel, optical sensor, and/or formatter board(attached to the light engine).

Screen is blank and orange

The power supply board failed. Most cause is the electrolitic capacitors. They look like little soda pop cans. These should all have "Flat" tops if you see any with buldging tops? That is the problem . They are cheap and easy to replace. Just remember capacitors and components in general can hold a charge even after being unplugged for months. They can kill you. make sure you use caution. Discharge those caps. The bad caps are usually visable bad. I would replace them. These caps have a negative and a positive. If you put these in wrong? They will either fizz out and smoke or a loud pop and smoke will happen.
Thanks
Give me a good feedback on here please.

For the second time in

The lamps are consumer replaceable items so easy to do. I would clean the vents at the back of the set and make sure there is good ventilation for the TV. Ventilation is very important for lamp and TV longevity. The other thing you can do to add life to the lamp is make sure the picture settings such as brightness and or contrast are not always as maximum and if there is a picture setting that says "DYNAMIC" turn it off as it places the lamp under more stress. Make sure if you do turn the TV off that you let it set for at least an hour to cool down as turning a set back on while the lamp is hot will shorten then life of a lamp.

When i push the on button tv turns on or makes

I would start by pressing the reset button on the front of the screen. After you are able to turn the tv on, press menu the 2470 then press enter on the remote to reset the tv. This might fix your problem. If not suspect the E2P, and if that doesn't work your DM is faulty and needs replaced.

Distorted colors on my mitsubishi wd-73727

Projection TV sets are known to have two common problems. The first problem that is common to these sets is convergence failure. When this happens the TV will usually look 3D, Wavy/Distorted, etc. It may also shutdown and blink an error code.

The second common problem with Projection TV sets is dull video, halos around objects, white looking video, or red overpowers the screen. This is commonly caused by the fluid in the lens being clouded overs. To get fixed either call in a local TV repair company or goto sites such as Tv Repair Kits to get a repair kit with instructions. Here is there link.

http://www.tvrepairkits.com/xcart/home.php?partner=papa1dude

They have put together complete kits for most models that include the parts, step by step photo instructions, repair assistance, etc.

My Mitsubishi TV Model number WD-73727 keeps

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems to be an issue with the power supply board or the main board. To check which part has gone bad, you’ll have to open the back of the unit and check for bulged capacitors on the power supply board. Before performing any repairs I’ll also suggest you to try and reset the TV by unplugging it for 8-10 hours. Please make sure to turn off and unplug the TV for at least 1 hour to drain off current from all components especially capacitors before you perform any repairs. Also note that the TV consists of very high voltages even when in off position. This is only recommended if you have electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder components. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee
