Our system has been working perfectly but now says 'no storage device is connected'. Nothing has changed to my knowledge. I can still play and watch DVD's on unit.

How is the USB stick formatted? IF it is formatted NTFS or Apple, it won't be recognized, and of course the data on the stick has to be a media file format that your TV recognizes

Only a USB storage device is recognizable.
- If the USB storage device is connected through a USB hub, the device is not recognizable.
- A USB storage device using an automatic recognition programme may not be recognized.
- A USB storage device which uses its own driver may not be recognized.
- The recognition speed of a USB storage device may depend on each device.
- Please do not turn off the TV or unplug the USB device when the connected USB storage device is working. When such
device is suddenly separated or unplugged, the stored files or the USB storage device may be damaged.
- Please do not connect the USB storage device which was artificially maneuvered on the PC. The device may
cause the product to malfunction or fail to be played. Never forget to use only a USB storage device which has
normal music files, image files or movie files.
- Please use only a USB storage device which was formatted as a FAT32 file system, NTFS file system provided with
the Windows operating system. In case of a storage device formatted as a different utility programme which is
not supported by Windows, it may not be recognized.

I tried renting another copy and same thing. I tried updating my system, same thing. I changed my BD internet connection from allow to confirm and selected no once I started the movie and it worked. Hope I helped you!

Step 1. Connect your storage device (I usually use a pen drive) to your computer

Step 2. Copy Movie to the storage device

Step 3. Eject storage device and connect to your ps3 via the USB port.

Step 4. under videos an option of your storage device should be there but do not choose X button instead press triangle for options, then select display all.

Step 6. Locate your movie and select it using X button.

Step 7. Enjoy the movie!!!! This works with MOST movie files, you may find problems watching some movie because of the way they were encoded.

Step 8. Done.

Hello, unfortunately there are only two ways to perform a system software update. Via internet, or system storage device. I would advise taking it to a friend or relative's if they have wireless internet? Here is instructions on how to set up your wireless internet. On the playstation main menu, go to settings then network settings. Select wireless then select scan, select the access point you wish to use. Then check the SS-ID for the access point, select the security you wish to use. Enter the encryption key and when you have finished this a list off connections will appear. Generally this problem is because of storage device.

If you have basic knowledge of hardware then feel secure and follow the steps else you can try on your own risk.Don't feel nervous you also can do it easily.

here you go..

1. firstly unscrew all the screw of your case and see your hard disk.
2. Then follow the wire that connect from hard disk to motherboard.
   (tips, usually there are two wire one is connected to power supply and another to motherboard) see to the below pic ..
3. carefully unplug and plugin the wire.
4. run your system. if it works feel your are lucky or else repeat the third step again and again until you get.
   (tips. better if you change your wire)

Or you can check whether your hard disk works fine or not. For it you can connect your hard disk to another system and check it. if it works fine then follow the above step else change your device.

last option is to knock the door of computer service. ; )

this is a common problem with the config files. to correct you must:

1. with player powered off hold menu button and connect to PC
2. hold menu button until a blue screen appears
3. windows should find your device and think it's a USB mass storage device
4. when Auto play asks you what you would like to do, select "Open folder to view files.
5. Find the "CONFIG" folder on the device, and delete everything in it.
6. disconnect, and then reconnect your device....

wham-o...it now works

After reading over your owners manual I can only offer once piece of advice. You should be able to reset your system by unplugging it from the power fully for 60 seconds. This is usually used during a power interruption or surge, but may assist in this case as well.

Can you bring in another device to try ( is there an AUX setting/plug in back)?

Talked with Sharp, it's a issue with hdmi and optical out, best fix for it that I'm currently using is a 3-way toslink splitter, cost a little of nothing and work perfectly, you just turn the dial to the signal you want to play off of. Clicky

Depends what OS your computer has. For XP, you do Start_Settings_ControlPanel. In control panel, Open "System" In "System", click first on the "Hardware" tab, then on the "Device Manager" button. The layout on other Operating systems is sometimes a little different, so you might have to fiddle a bit.with the instructions to get there. Once in Device Manager, with the MP3 player plugged in, you need to start looking at the various entries for the player. There are quite likely to be at least three - one under "Disk Drives", one under "Storage Volumes", and one (USB Mass storage device) under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers". Right Click each in turn and select "Properties". Hopefully this will reveal which of the virtual devices isn't working properly, and clicking the associated "Troubleshoot" button will offer you a way ahead. A.
